You can pack into an ageing, poorly ventilated church with loads of other vulnerable groups though.

For me, this is going to happen every winter until we make a solid effort to help out the poorer countries of the world. These variants will just keep appearing, year after year. South Africa is vaccinated to 27% for example. That's no fcuking use to anyone. I'd like to see the richer countries push on with vaccinating the rest of the world. There's no point spending millions on boosters etc when they aren't actually stopping the spread. Fight the source of the problem and try to stop these new variants getting here in the first place.

It'll mutate in this country too over time. The flu jab each year has vaccines against the 2 or 3 strains that are predicted to be most prevalent. It's hard to see why this will be any different.

There's surely less chance of it mutating within this country the more we are vaccinated though, no? Some of these other countries have awful vaccination rates and until that's sorted we're fighting a never ending battle.

It is possible for me to work an 8 hour shift and have no contact with any of my customers but i must on the shielding list stay in the same house as a person infected with Covid 19.
    this is absolutely outrageous

thats the thing mate, this little devious chunt has said table service only so she's not actually closing any businesses, so she doesnt need to give them money (beg and borrow fae the idiot boris) so she limits the businesses hitting them in the pocket in their busiest time of the year rather than wait a week and do it from January

I'm out of pocket with the little prick too, was meant to be doing Edinburgh for Hogmanay so the street party is cancelled i'll get my refund on that, but i've lost my hotel money if i dont go as the hotels are open so cant get any money back from them and the party of 6 of us have all paid deposits on a meal at night, again shes kept them open so either we go or lose the money

    little sly *******

I would love it to be a possibility, but might it be that Omicron has mutated in someone who is vaccinated to create a milder strain?

For some reason, i have it in my head that through all the mutations, the Deltas of this world will come along and hit hard, then the Omicrons while highly transmissible will not be as deadly. Seem to remember reading or hearing that early in the Pandemic.
