They need 14 clubs to vote in favour. So it is not just Burnley. In fairness, Klopp said “for example” Burnley as a small club. He did not say it was exclusively Burnley. He went on to say that clubs like Burnley only play, perhaps, 42 games per season. He believes that Liverpool play 52+ and that the players also have internationals.

Excuse my schoolboy German (I slept a lot in this class), but all Burnley are asking for is "So sollen gleiche Wettbewerbsbedingungen sichergestellt werden."

Let's all play on a level playing field eh Jurgen?

Clubs who wanted to join a Super League express disappointment because they aren't backed when they want changes in the League which they wanted to shun! Oh dear, how sad, never mind!

Burnley 1959/60 played 50 games including League and FA Cup. No subs allowed and we had Brian Miller, Ray Pointer and Jimmy Adamson playing all 50 games, Adam Blacklaw, John Angus and Brian Pilkington playing 49 games, Jimmy Robson 46 games, Alex Elder and John Connelly 42 games. That is 9 out of a team of 11 playing the majority of the games.

In 1960/61, when we were in the European Cup, FA Cup, League Cup and the League we played a total of 62 matches and used 24 players.
There are plenty of teams who have done similar over the years, however, modern football is so precious!

As someone added --they played on far from perfect pitches, unlike today ----there were also several players who were working outside football as well ---John Angus and a few others worked at the local colliery!

Today's lot are bloody mollycoddled and still moan like bloody fish wives!
You'll have the stats for this Sub, but didn't we play around 60 games in the season when we got to the semis of the Mickey Mouse, under Owen Coyle ?

Graham Alexander played in about 62 games that season sinkov and he was still running down the tunnel after we beat the Blades.

No doubt Burnley will get the blame for their defeat tonight. He wanted to use 11 subs and we voted against it!
Well done Leicester, they worked bloody hard for that win and Klopp should be asking questions about Van Dijk whose defending against Lookman for the goal certainly left a lot to be desired.
