    Dike.

According to reports, if we get Dike on loan it will take all of our January budget to do so. I'm not saying that this is fact but if so, to my mind, it's a little worrying. Forget the fact that we need another creative midfielder, what happens if he gets injured and is out for a period of time? Where does that leave us? Back to where we are now. Do we take the risk of 'putting all our eggs in one basket?'

IMO a risk we HAVE to take.

Let’s not do another Daniel Sturridge deal.
Selling a young potential striker to Leeds to fund Sturridge was one of the worst January transfers I can remember.

Mind you it had disaster written all over it with his injury record. No wonder Lai does not want to invest. Other than Pereira we’ve lost millions in poor transfers in his time. What is Diangana and Grant worth these days 36 Million? Maybe 20 at most for the pair

However Dike looks a fit bloke.

If this is all the money we are spending then my limited knowledge of who we are in for points to Dike being the best option.

He has scored goals at this level and is an out and out centre forward and not injury prone. Some of the others are not.

He is the right age. If he scores the goals to get us promoted we will be able to buy out right. He might also be good enough for the Prem.

So if it is to be just the 1 then it's Dike for me. Who or what are the alternatives?

I wouldn’t be in favour of bringing Gayle back; he operated well with us in partnership with JayRod, we don’t have anyone with his qualities to partner Gayle. Anyway, I have read that there are other clubs also looking Dike, at least one in the PL, so it’s by no means certain that we will get him.

On the other hand we are only taking the risk on one player if Ismael goes and we have to revamp in the summer.
The team is punching above it's weight considering the squad we have.
We have a non existent owner, a s hit recruitment policy, clowns in charge of our academy. All in all we are doing better than expected.

I agree with two of the points that you make in your last sentence but I feel that the academy do a decent job and that it's what happens to these lads when they are on the verge of the first team that's at fault. We either don't play them or they join other clubs.
