On the other hand the players that come in have to be prepared to fight tooth and nail to keep us up. A lot of deadwood needs to be shifted at knock down prices even if we pay up their contracts. Deadwood players have been a financial drain on us for years.

Agreed, could have a whole XI of Jack Colback’s twiddling their thumbs, picking up money with no squad numbers. Need to be managed out of the club as efficiently as possible.

Be interesting to see if Gayle goes...Howe clearly doesn't rate him either-he could still do a job in the Chimpo, albeit he's a few years older than when he played there with us and then West Brom so his time is definitely running out.

The most important thing is who we bring in right NOW. I think Ndombele is out the door at Spurs as well with Conte in full strop mode. While we don't need a midfielder as much as other positions, we could do worse than him and JoLo (only if he can consistently maintain the performance against Man U) in midfield.
