I don't know what the contract said Animal. With a performance related payment, £1m no, but £3m yes maybe. No one else appeared to have been queueing up to pay £3m for Dike when we signed him, and that's the point.
I suspect Dane said to Conway at the end of the season, we can get him for £3m, arbitrary figure, and Conway said 'the business model only allows for max transfer fees of £1.5m. I can get 10 players for £3m Dane and make profit on them all'. Dane sees the light and decides to leave.
