3 nil win for Germany here caused a sore arm, rough night and the need for a snooze! By feck i hope thats it until next November.

I am increasingly optimistic of fan return and life return this month. I know some of the numbers and headlines seem quite dramatic but it doesn't paint the full story. Certainly from a local Dundee perspective anyway.
    1) NHS pressure - yes, slightly tough but this is due mainly to vacancies/sick leave/isolation and nothing to do with volume of patients. We have lots of empty beds and are coping
    2) Increasing Covid inpatients - yes, more people are in hospital who have COVID but unlike before they are predominantly not coming into hospital because of their COVID. It is coincidental to their other reasons of being in. Almost exclusively unvaccinated who are getting "sick with COVID".
    3) Vaccination - lots of noise about this. It is though the game changer that we had hoped. This current Omicron spike is essentially just proving that. This wave may actually help in the long run by proving our ability as a population and heath service to cope with these stressors/waves.

I had a real blip over Christmas time. Got pretty low with the prospect of another January like we had at work in 2021 (which was truly horrendous). Couldn't see a way out of the COVID nightmare and took the football fan ban really hard. Now though, back in the midst of dealing with COVID it is actually making me much more optimistic seeing what I am seeing.
As others have said, the politics and national decisions around this are very difficult but genuine optimism has returned to my perspective and I can see an end to all of this now. Can't wait for a successful transfer window to top it all off!
Whilst we're at it, here's to tangerine ribbons on the trophy in Hampden in May! Happy New Year one and all

Great to see something positive that appears to be from within!

Cant begin to comprehend what you have had to deal with and hope things settle down soon.

Just listened to Sir Jason regarding this article, and i am confused specifically those in Alan from Prestwick's situation.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-59893910

Isolating for 10 days and still LFT positive. Sir Jason said that LFT tests are really good at showing when you are most infectious, and having described ending the new 7 day regime after 2 negative LFTs, he then says that once you get to 10 days and still LFT positive, it doesnt matter and you can come out of isolation.

If an LFT test shows when you are at the most infectious, why the hell are we allowing people to come out of isolation if they are still showing positive results, even after the 10 days?

Just on boosters, think im the only one on here vaccinated abroad and with johnson and johnson and to date there has been no mention of any 'boosters' for the J&J jab

wonder how that is, are the other not as strong, or do J&J not have one developed yet?

Are they not just boosting with Pfizer? My mum was originally vaccinated with Astra Zenica but she got Pfizer as the booster

Ah didnt realise that - I have had a mix as well, AZ first, P 2nd and booster. So do wee Nic and Boris and their cronies have major shares in Pfizer then by over pushing the danger of omicron variant and the urgent need for boosters when P have a clear monopoly and clear run? #QAnon #Flatearth #pharmalies #billgates

I typed that as a joke but reading it back I would do well speaking at an anti vax conference lol
