I think they are alienating/disenfranchising the fans to make it less painless when they up sticks and go somewhere else.
I’m nearly sure I’ve read that the owners want better facilities so it will generate more income for the club ie so they can attract better players.
Reading between the lines - the state of Oakwell - especially the West Stand - is a bottleneck that’s holding the club back.
