The point is you remove/limit the risk of receiving the virus, and more importantly reduce the chance of creating a transmission chain to someone more vulnerable
It’s firstly an altruistic action
Where the virus can run free and find suppressed immune systems to develop within, new strains will emerge
Being immunised is definitely a long term self interest strategy as well, wherever you are
This is recent, and probably as reliable as most sources

That's really good, thanks. I guess time has marched on since it's publication so the information is out of date, especially as Omicron is know to be much more transmittable.
Probably beyond my limits of understanding then.
Im all Pfizered up so as far as i can work out from what i read in the Omicron bit, yes i am more likely to catch this variant, but i am approaching 60% protection against showing symptoms, and in turn transmitting it to someone else. That is if im right that those who are infected and showing positive LFTs are at their most infectious.
At least i have the chance of putting this to the test!![]()
It's a confusing age complicated thing to be fair. For example, an old school friend came with me to the Motherwell match at Tannadice. I picked him up in Mill o' Mains and drove to Starbucks at Morrisons and we were there for an hour or so. Then I took him to Tannadice and then dropped him back off after the match. He sent me his positive LFT result on the Monday after (which was subsequently confirmed with a positive PCR), needless to say I was raging (he admitted he'd had symptoms from the Thursday before). So, I had a PCR test (negative) then waited 5 days and did an LFT (also negative). It appears then that my vaccinations stopped me getting the illness therefore non transmissible (you need to get the illness before your can transmit it).
Looking at that you'd think for sure I'd have get it, we shared 2 car journeys! But no, never happened.
