Looking to pass a law here n Washington State to classify the use of a fake vaccine card to gain entry into sporting events, bars, restaurants etc. as fraud. It would carry a fine up to $10K and up to 5 years in prison. A big price to pay for a swift pint!

Maybe they should do something similar to deter illegal guns. Just 23 days into the year and already over 1,100 homicides by gun across the US as it's basically becoming its own pandemic.

We have to do two things to get ourselves out of this. Firstly, stop the fear mongering and have a more balanced media who call out Whitty's mob at press conferences rather than begging for more sanctions. Secondly, cut every employed persons income to match the hardship of those who have been hit hardest at this point everyone will be on the same page

I agree floor tape has probably had little effect, but it's madness to suggest lockdowns and masks haven't worked.

For pretty much every country in the world you see a shift from exponential growth to a sharp drop as soon as lockdowns are introduced, and numerous studies have shown the effectiveness of mask-wearing.

They bought us time to develop and administer the vaccine, which again, the effectiveness at reducing hospitalisation and death is clearly visible with a look at the data.

On deaths, the suicide rate for the UK is 11.2 deaths per 100,000. Studies from the first lockdown does not show a rise in rate.

Covid deaths are at 2,233 per 100,000 so even if the suicide rate quadrupled it wouldn't even put a dent in the covid figures.

Loss of quality of life is a different argument where a more reasonable case can be made.

Wealth transfer is probably what this was all about, right from the start if you looked at he ONS and PHE figures you could see that the Covid threat was exaggerated, trouble is, hardly anyone looks at the figures, they just believe what Huw Edwards or Clive Myrie reads off an autocue.

The number of people in England and Wales who have died of Covid and had no co-morbidities is only 17,571, which is similar to the flu.

Meanwhile before Covid, 26 billionaires owned half the world's wealth, what is it now? 15 billionaires owning 75% of the wealth?
And they'll do it again, this is why they're continuing with "no jab, no job" for the NHS, even though they know the jabs do little or nothing to stop transmission, it's to ensure that only compliant doctors and nurses are in place for next time.

Your stat about co-morbidities is true, but did you take the time to look at how many people in the UK have some sort of condition and would count as having a co-morbidity? I'll let you look up how many millions of lives you've casually cast aside as it seems worthless because they have any sort of pre-existing condition.

I heard 6 months but that wasn't gospel. I don't think they really know. Maybe also depends on what other variants pop up.

So I have had vax 1 and 2.

Caught covid at Christmas- must have built up some immunity following that.

Is there any good reason to have the booster?

15 million is the number of people in the UK with existing conditions.

Of course, this entire debate is flawed because it assumes everything we have been through was about saving the lives, whereas the focus around the world seems to have primarily have been to keep hospitalisations low enough that health services aren't completely overwhelmed, and the population isn't so sick all at once that society grinds to a halt from supply chain issues etc.

Flattening the curve was the goal, not saying the elderly. That just happened to be a side benefit, as elderly lives are still valuable to the vast majority of people despite what you might believe yourself.

The pandemic was over last Spring, it's been all about money, power and control since then.
