So what basis would you make that judgement on in a "who to save" scenario such as MA's Dutch doctors almost found themselves in? Its easy to be dismissive of an "economic solution" when you have no alternative selection process. Please dont cop out by saying "save them all" because that isnt an option in this game of morlity

Interesting way of misspelling morality. Might have been more appropriate if you’d left out the ‘I’. Freudian slip maybe.

I don’t know GP. That’s my point...I agree with MA...it’s complex and Tricky is, possibly with the best of intentions on this occasion, over simplifying things.

Then again he’s the one essentially saying the life of a young cancer sufferer is worth more than that of an elderly (define that if you can!) Covid sufferer...or perhaps even a young cancer sufferer who has developed Covid.
RA I know that sounds brutal, but essentially, yes that is what I am saying.
82+ yr old granny, may be protected and may live for another 1.2.3.4 or 5 years.

22 yr old Grand daughter, has a 90% chance of surviving into old age, should they get past the first 5 years after diagnosis.
Any delay in that diagnosis/treatment cuts those odds massively, until you are probably talking of a death sentence.

So to simplify it for you.
Battlefield Triage- best chance of recovery/survival, - thrown in with a bit of GP's analogy.
My old mans 85, his exact words were a few weeks ago. I've had a good run. What comes, comes.

But we’re not talking ‘battlefield’ scenarios here, Tricky and although I understand your Dad’s sentiment you’ve already simplified things too much and are entering seriously dangerous and complex territory.

Looking very much like a rule relaxation coming my way from next Wednesday.

Bars and restaurants may open until 1AM instead 10PM as it is now. Corona pass still needed. No masks. No distancing provided the location houses less than 500.

Clubs, theatres, cinemas and discotheques may open under the same conditions as pubs, again up to 500. Over 500 and it's masks and distancing.

Love to see someone try to enforce social distancing in a disco with over 500 people in it! Some jobsworth with a tape measure on the dance floor maybe?

Clearly a job for Michael Gove...think he was practising back last summer...most would certainly have kept their distance.
