Wouldn't be surprised if a small proportion of the recent fees is diverted to increase the budget for key targets.

We definitely need to see more fringe players leaving though.

I remember that very clearly. Most United fans were thinking WTAF but the Dees were so desperate you felt they would have taken money from any dark corner they could raise it.

So I'm hoping we have at least one other possibility we're close with.
I get all that, I kinda feel similar, but it's maybe only a risk to us as we know absolutely nothing about his fitness? I'm sure the club have done all the testing available to them to make sure everything is okay. They had him on a specific training plan to get him up to speed & if he's proving himself 100% in every aspect then there's not much more we can do. But yeah, if he's going to take a while to get match fit then he's probably not our immediate answer to Fuchs leaving. Saying that however, he was 10 times the player all our midfield have ever been just two years ago so it may be worth the gamble. I'm happy to go with the club on this one.

Yeah, agree with all of that. But it's one thing producing the right graphs and digital readouts and entirely another doing 90 minutes week in week out against the Scott Browns of the league.
All I'm saying really is that he shouldn't be all our eggs in the midfield basket, need one more in even if he signs. Plus I would expect Levitt will be away in May.

I'm gonna make a prediction, we will sign someone in addition or instead of by close of window.

Well we're apparently in the market for a defender and an attacking midfielder this window. He's neither so something will have to give.

KM in on a pay as you play deal would make sense...anything elsewould be bonkers. We are still missing a few pieces of the jigsaw and taking risks this big is ano go for me. If he is signed to supplement what we were going to get in...then fair do's but we aren't in a position to gamble. We could easily be dragged into a relegation dog fight and we need fit players!
