It isn't. Your post didn't imply that was your concern though. January isn't really the time to be building for the future with permanent signings without paying fees. We all know that. That doesn't mean we shouldn't look at loan players, hopefully better than we currently have, to help us reach the goals we've made for the season.

Makes me want to know which players are out of contract in the summer. This looks like first year up target avoid relegation, second year consolidation, third year build on that.

To be fair, from a business point of view the squad was too big, the payroll too high and we're now seeing that starting to be addressed.

I never said we shouldn't be signing loan players. To be honest you're very quick to dismiss any opinion that isn't yours.

The outgoings are all fair enough in my view and a couple more in hoti and max would be good. In comings well we are pretty tight tbh - i see hibs managed to get a player from fulham with pace and can play either wing. FFS sounds like what we could do with. Christ knows what the agreement with fulham actually does.

I agree, we now should be looking for Quality no Quantity.

Think there is a bit of an over negative reaction to the window tbh

We have lost players we expected to and a whole chunk of players who were picking up a wage for doing very little. I would like to think this frees up the wages for us to start looking at signing better players on pre-contracts for the summer for our starting 11 which may be better than scraping the barrel in January. Of course it is a slight gamble given we could be pulled into a relegation fight but tbh if we win tonight then we should stay well clear that.

IMHO the only player going out that is a bad move is Glass, i think he could offer us a lot more given a proper run at it.

    Smith - 4 starts, 3 subs
    Carson - 5 starts
    Reynolds - 3 starts, 2 subs
    Connolly - 1 sub
    Hutchison - 0 appearances
    Cooney - 0 appearance

So 1 first teamer and 9 diddies

Info from the fantastic Arab Archive site
Akinola - 0 appearances, ever, for anyone

    Our 1 incoming yesterday

Just think it was yet another disappointing transfer deadline day and would prefer Tam to just tell us that's how it was going to be, instead of me checking every ten minutes to see if we signed any ****er yet

I agree about Glass but he isnt being given that chance so its the right thing to do in that case.

Not really. Just giving a bit of balance to a debate where a few people seem a bit distressed. You said we were 'relying on two loan kids in our midfield' as if it was a bad thing. I replied that I don't think it matters if they're good enough, not in terms of getting us through this season.

Agree with the last sentence especially. I kept checking all day long and had such a flat feeling when nothing really happened.
