But with promotion salaries go up, so Smith & co will get a salary rise, like when relegation
salaries drop, that is if the club has this in the contract.
Michael Smith says, he & his family happy with the area they live in, with schools etc, so
Michael Smith has to do what he thinks is best for his family, but all transfers don't work
out, moving to a different club could turn belly up, moving his family to a different area,
moving schools might not suit his children, if a transfer took Smith to a different area of
the country, the family upheaval could be a major factor.
Michael Smith's agent may have put ideas into Smith, with a better salary elsewhere, but
not forgetting the agent is after a slice of a transfer fee, so sometimes a transfer is not
in the best interests of the player, but in the best interests of the agent.
Time now the transfer window is closed, Tony Stewart and Paul Warne have to sort out a
contract package for Michael Smith, which benefits the club & the player, to keep Smith
at the NYS.
