So if we win it's luck, if we lose its because we aren't good enough.?
Wrexham, stockport, Grimsby were all nicely placed when we beat them, we should have beat Halifax, we destroyed Solihull ...off the top of my head only Bromley beat our first 11 and even then a draw might have been a fair result...not bad for a hopeless side and manager...
Rest assured when I had an NG postcode I was season ticket holder at the Lane for give or take 30 years. Even when I was globetrotting in fantastic, exotic locations around the world I was always putting money into the club and going to games whenever I was on these shores.
Now Meadow Lane is a hefty hike there and back to say the least but thankfully I've got lots of friends and family in the area so I get back to Lane during the season![]()
After KK pertinent and valid question/post and now durhampie's balanced and IMO truthful words hopefully we can move on and go back to what's important. NCFC and ways to sort out this continued indifferent away perfomances and results. I have faith in IB to solve the puzzle.
I can only really comment on the Bromley game as that’s the only away game I’ve seen, and to be honest the first half wasn’t at all bad…but for the width of the post, some good goalkeeping and a bit of poor finishing we could’ve taken a decent lead into the break.
That goal right on half time just swung the tide I think. Bromley played well all game but in the second half they were water tight, whilst still being threatening. What frustrated me about our second half was that although IB brought on more attackers we still only ever seemed to have 1 or 2 players in the box when the ball was out wide.
Our attacking players are just fine, but I do think IB needs to flood the box a bit more when we’re in those positions. Other than that, I think physically the midfield wasn’t up to the challenge and perhaps mentally one or two weren’t up to the challenge either.
Who is running that midfield? As good as he has been, Palmer doesn’t strike me as a shouter/organiser, Vincent is still learning his trade, and Roberts isn’t really even a midfielder….that trio may work at home but I think we need some leadership in there in our away games, if the Bromley game was anything to go by.
