The match where he was hooked before half time (if I remember correctly) he had played a stray pass while under no pressure, lost possession when trying to hold on to the ball instead of passing , then he tried some fancy trick that didn't come off and was hooked nearly immediately. There might be some sort of "never give the ball away" policy going on there. It would explain that strangely timed substitution, it was nearly half time.

But....... if the players are being told to play things safe and not express themselves then we are going to be watching boring futba for a good while yet.

Fair enough, but you would never subbie a player just before half time for being a lazy bastirt' (IMO) you would let him know, in no uncertain terms, (at half time) in front of his team mates, that he better get his lazy erse in to gear or he is getting hooked for letting the side down.

Might be a bit of both, not tracking back, and giving the ball away too many times. If that is the case, that type of player will not make it very far in the modern game (whatever that may be these days)

I see the 16 year old mcleod turned down rangers. Positive that kida are seeing they aint really that viable an option and we are better at this stage.

seems to be a scottalan mentality with him. except west brom aint interested. Its a shame as he is a decent player. Its all in the head and unless you are exceptionally naturally gifted beyond gifted, then without the head you are nothing except inside your head. Which is the root of the problem.

Im going to copyright that lol

"Dundee United are eyeing up a pre-contract move for in-form Livingston winger Alan Forrest. The 25-year-old is out of contract this summer and has moved on to the radar of Tannadice boss Tam Courts and sporting director Tony Asghar." (Daily Record)

Alan Forrest on a pre contract. Definitely a player i thought we should have gone for before he joined Livi and he is someone I id be happy to have now. Charles-Cook is another but id imagine he is destined for bigger things.
