If the owners want promotion they'll need to be pragmatic. The system won't quite get them there, a proven manager with the benefit of stats will.

Paul Cook is available and we're now in the position of salvaging the season as top spot is gone. No way are we going to haul back 12 points on Stockport with Burch in charge.
3 games ago we had a chance to be much nearer the top. No need for knee-jerk reactions at the moment. Admittedly Stockport are going great guns, but we do have 2 games in hand.

I don't think we will do it now, but am not in favour of changing Burchnall.

It's ultra competitive this season and we're 12 !! points adrift. Burch ain't gonna get us up.

They dominated the midfield to the extent where it looked like they had an extra man. The only surprise was that it took them so long to score. I keep hoping that my view of the game is outdated, and that pretty football could succeed in getting us back to where I think we belong. Today, the pretty footballers were taught a lesson by the less technically gifted players who simply wanted it more. Burchnall has to shoulder much of the blame, because we offered pretty poor opposition for over an hour. After 30 minutes we had no shape or pattern of play, basically we were chasing shadows. Nothing that he did changed it at all, so my worry is that when the chips are down we're just not as good as some think we are.
No bite in midfield, can't deal with a high press and continued to try to play it out from the back under pressure. We brought about our own problems. IB talks about pleying behind their lines. Well he's the bleddy coach and should have had a plan to deal with it. Obviously he didn't, despite us being under siege for almost all the second half.

The idea that Football Radar will improve our recruitment and lead to an attractive, attacking style of play that will see us promoted is a noble one, and I would love to see it succeed. I just don't think it will succeed. We are so far into it that Burchnall has to be given this season as a minimum, but if we did fail to make the playoffs it will be time for a serious rethink from our owners.

It's a pity because for snippets during the match we looked like tearing them apart, take away the slick passing and we have nothing though.

I’m actually for once Elite going to be less optimistic than you and IB, I think 3-0 would have flattered us, Ruben probably should have scored and I hate to say in a game like this we are probably missing a Dennis. I don’t think Grimsby are that untalented either but they were so hungry and tbh we collapsed from the start of the 2nd half, it’s the first game where I’ve thought blimey r we actually that good?

No, that's writing the season off. 6% chance of promotion from 6/7th. We need to cut the odds down. A proven manager is going to be needed.
