I wouldn’t take it personally, I wasn’t at Bromley or Wealdstone so I don’t comment on player performances that I don’t witness in person.

Pretty sure they will Durham but I'll no doubt be shouted down in here and called a drama queen. I am no such thing, I'm a manager in retail and can see the failures of picking people who perform so poorly and pissing off others who contribute well then are dropped. Vincent has been very hard done too and what the hell does poor old Eli have to do to get a start?

Its called favouritism. The same as happened with Kelly Evans.

The only answers you'll get are "Corbyn would have been worse" and "In Boris we trust".

    I'm afraid that's his limit.

I think this may be the first time I have agreed with Soccerman - drama queens!

Even though I thought Wootton and Rodrigues were nowhere near their best today, I still think they are part of our best eleven. Sam has surprised me by offering more than I thought he was capable of in his last few games, and he needs to be kept involved to avoid suffering a loss of confidence. He's probably earned a place, but I don't know how we accommodate all three.

Our home record this season is very good and in the same context that was only our second defeat at home this season. However this is our second bad patch of the season having dropped two points away at Wealdstone, lost away to Bromley and lost to Grimsby. 1 point from 9 is relegation form.

The first half an hour was fine we were playing well created chances and scored a goal. What we can be guilty of is not converting those chances and that's where for me another finisher is needed. The problem that we do have though is if Kyle Wootton does not score then it's going to be hard for Notts to win football matches. We had the same problem last season and if he gets injured who is there to come in and replace him? I still think we need a Thomas and Dennis type who can come on and make an impact, or play alongside and shoulder some of the responsibility.

The ludicrous penalty decision was a key moment in the game. However rather than the save be a positive and give us a lift to go on and get the second goal and kill Grimsby off it had the opposite affect. It seemed to unsettle us and instead inspired Grimsby and bring them to life. That's when Grimsby upped their game and began to push us back. It was the same at the start of the second half and we were pressed further and further back that by default we looked like an Ardley team respecting the point and protecting the 1-0. However I very much doubt that was the intended tactic. We just could not deal with the high pressing and it was putting us under even more pressure. It was clear what was coming the more the half went on as we looked leggy, lacking energy and intensity to break out of Grimsby's grasp.

Once Grimsby equalised then we woke up a bit and got in their half and forced some corners, but why did it take for them to score for us to wake up and go on the attack? Why not do that after the penalty miss and go in at half time 2-0 up and you've got a different game on your hands. It was becoming more and more clear that Grimsby wanted it more and in the end the last minute goal meant we got what we deserved and were masters of our own downfall. It was another lesson that when 1-0 up we need to go on and finish the job, otherwise we just end up giving the opposition hope that they can get back in it.

I have no issues with the owners, the fundamental style of our play or the manger. Yes we have some fantastic yonug technical players who've had a fantastic education in how to play football, but what we do seem to lack is the spoilers the Bishops, Ravenhills, JOB's, Doyles the ones who when it's wet and cold and pitches are heavy we need to do the ugly stuff and grind out results these types can break up the oppositions play and win the ball. That's what's required at this level to beat the Bromley's, Eastleigh's and fight fire with fire. We don't have to go away from our core principles but we need to be able to mix it up and win ugly. That's what Stockport and Cheaterfulough have been doing not playing champagne football at all times but getting those scrappy and ugly 1-0 wins. Or you win games even when not at your best.

The most frustrating thing is that taking the past ten days out of it overall we are so close yet so far to being the finished article. For me the title is gone, but we must aim for second or third place. If we don't finish second or third then for me that will be disappointing as we will not have pushed on from last season.

    Be prepared to be disappointed.
