I don't think our midfielders are robust enough to cope with the two-man midfield required of a 4-4-2. It worked ten years ago with Bishop and Ravenhill, and I think Palmer probably has enough defensively and offensively to cope, but I'd say the other contenders are too vulnerable defensively (Brunt, Vincent, Rodrigues) or too limited creatively (Francis) to make it work consistently. Every time we played a against a team with three men in midfield, I think we would risk being overrun in there.
