Sky Crime tomorrow at 9 pm. I have a strong interest in this as my brother produced a TV programme on it years ago and has written a book (unpublished). There have been some more recent programmes, most recently on BBC Wales. I have read everything there is to read on the murder, but still do not know whether Morris (see below) was guilty. I would be interested in hearing the points of view of others.
===============
In June 1999, three generations of one family were brutally killed in a quiet suburban street in the small village of Clydach, South Wales.
The murderer bludgeoned Mandy Power, 34, to death in her home on Kelvin Road.
The intruder also murdered Mandy’s daughters Katie, 10, and Emily, eight.
He then killed 80-year-old grandmother Doris Dawson.
David Morris was tried twice and convicted. He died last year still protesting his innocence.
Murder in the Valleys is a four part true crime series.
Over the four episodes, Murder in the Valleys tells the story behind the biggest murder investigation in Welsh history.
It also investigates the enduring repercussions of the crime.
I will give it a go cayambe,I love owt like this tbh
I quite like true life murder mysteries,The Real Manhunter I enjoyed especially the one about the Nightstalker where it was revealed that due to police error he was left to rape for more than seven years undetected,24 hours in police custody is always worth a watch when that's on as well,I set the box for the one that you mentioned in Wales
I watched the first episodes last night and it's all very interesting,the first 15mins was about Dia Thomas's arrest and then the rest was about the background to the story,that e-fit picture was a bloody 100% match to the lovers husband and would have had him in the cells by 4.30pm before going home for my tea at 5.00pm thinking job done but then they drop the bombshell that he's got an identical twin who was the copper who was first on the scene at the murder and despite there being four people in the house with caved in heads reported it as not suspicious,I'm griped 👍
Episodes 3 and four will be consumed tonight
After having watched all four programmes I'm totally convinced that the right person was convicted,that gold chain was proved to be his and he only admitted it when confronted with the paint evidence,plus his boss stated that he had bought another chain for him to hide the fact that he no longer had his,he also had the mentally to do such a nasty attack,the DNA on the sock banged the nails in the coffin for him,he was never going to admit it,why would he, while he's pleading innocence theres always the chance that he might get off especially on a technicality like having a solicitor who had conflicts of interest in the case
I need to watch the final two programmes but as yet I am not convinced. I know a lot of information about it but I am unabe to share.
There was a bloke right at the beginning of episode one (and in episode four) who said that he knows who he saw walking down a dark unlit road that night and it was the lovers husband,why wait 20 years to come forward with this information? The lovers husband had a twin brother how does he know that it wasn't him? He admitted that he's been on the wrong side of the law so why wouldn't you say what you had seen if for no other reason than to get one up on the police? The whole story has a lot of holes in it and the brother who was first on the scene and investigated the fire clearly has some questions to answer about how professionally he acted but I'm still sure that they got the right man
