I also believe the only way we get out is a different approach. If we want to copy the likes of Stockport, Chesterfield and Wrexham in terms of type of players we buy I.e experienced L1,L2 players it’s not going to work. The reason being especially in the case of Stockport and Wrexham they will just buy better players because their spending heaps of cash and we will just get 2nd rate versions so primarily going down the route of young potential is probably our best shot.

Yep I agree with that MM.

Seems to be lots of PE Teacher/Trainee rubbish being said about Burchnall he HAS managed at a higher level than this.

We need to give him time the idea of 4 managers a season achieves nothing.

Nobody wants to be stuck in this league but its where we are and its a slog to get out we know this.

... greetings. Havn't read all comments so apologies if this repeats some. On the day we lost to the better side. What struck me is that we needed the fire of Jim O'b, like or dislike him, ie, someone to grab the game and drive us forward. We just don't have that; we're too nice. It struck me, watching the F-word, that Cooper has built a team of street fighters. We now expect too much of Kyle Wootton; he looks burned out. Give him a break.

Have a discussion about the table when we are 4th or higher again. Or even secured in the playoffs.
Yes we are in a mini slump but we are more than capable of beating anyone. It would help if we start taking our chances.

This. It makes me laugh people say IB had no experience before us, he's managed in a higher quality league infront of many more people! It's also the league the most sought after English manager Potter made his bones in. The thought IB can't manage in the national league due to only managing in Scandinavia is quite frankly nonsense. We are what we are, on our day we're great and let's be honest if we were more clinical then we'd win most games but the quality sometimes isn't there in this league. I agree we could do with a plan b at times against teams that have effectively countered our plan a but the thought you can't go up playing nice football I don't agree with at all.

The ideal answer is that they can do both, but my priority as a Notts fan is to become the World's Oldest Football League Club again. I don't particularly care if we do it by playing pretty football or direct football, I just want us to do it.
This “World's Oldest Football League Club” thing is a bit daft, isn’t it? “World’s Oldest Professional Football Club” I can understand - and Notts still has that title. But the Football League is nothing like its original form, with three more divisions these days (and why not make the National League a 5th division?). No other country has a directly comparable set up, does it? Is the distinction between “league” and “non-league” even a thing in the rest of the world?

Exactly! Their are so many points to play for. Where we are now is irrelevant. It’s where we are come May that matters.

Agreed. 'World's Oldest Professional Football Club' is many times more important (and marketable!) than the old 'World's Oldest Football League Club' title now held by some other club, probably Stoke .

If that title refers to the Football League or English Football League (EFL) as it is now widely known, does that make Manchester City, Liverpool, Spurs et al 'non-League' too? It's a nonsense title to be honest.

Number one in the world or number one in the 2nd to 4th divisions of the English football pyramid? I'll take the former!

Ah yes, I’d forgotten about the “non-league” Premier League, which I don’t follow. Bunch of prima donnas (or should that be “pre madonnas” 😜 ) with far too much money.
