Got to be Hause at the back, Chambers surely has to earn the right to wear the shirt...I mean, is he fit? Buendia is only a doubt, not out but maybe the fact its a early KO will work against him. Gerrard will want to play his strongest side surely, it is a game we can win but i'm sure our toon friends will be thinking the same!

Dunno, man, it's a fair question. Away fans were in the North East corner for a while back in the mid nineties so I'm not sure why as it's clearly possible. Maybe the configuration of the access behind the Leazes after Level 7 was built is to blame? Anyway, look at the exercise you get going up and down those stairs.

Well that was sh1t wasn't it folks, as for VAR - regardless of the outcome it's ruining it for the fans.

    What was the gameplan today?

No idea about a game plan mate, but if we did have one, I doubt that the players had the intelligence to implement it.

That has to be the most times that a Steven Gerrard team has ever given the ball away. He must be fuming.

Again, we only played for 20 minutes. This summer's transfer strategy is looking very straightforward.

Im totally had it with VAR, now it's not an excuse, we did not deserve anything apart from that decision, I thought VAR had got rid of the fine line and it was just the thick line but to say your off by a big toe v a players heel is pathetic! It was absolutely the worst performance under Gerrard, maybe it was too cold for them, where was the passion, tackles, shots, passing and movement? Shocking. We made it very easy for the toon army and I have no gripe with them but man VAR......

Also is it me or does Martinez look far less assured than he was last season? The understanding he had with the defence just doesn't seem to be the same, does anyone think Sanson or Young could play a makeshift DM as Luiz clearly can't. Maybe Chambers goes in there when Konsa returns?

Chambers played CDM when he was on loan at Fulham. Its worth a go because the most infuriating player we have in the team is Luiz. Don't know what's happened there but he is a shell of his former self.

Crap result. Grateful we are 10 points clear of the bottom 3 because this is relegation form.

i was totally p*ssed at the performance on sunday, but having thought about it, I think the game was an anomaly. there were some weird situations, a couple of times digne and ramsey made the same run and tripped over each other. Passes were going astray because they were stretching to make the right pass. I've played in games like that. You expect to beat them and are over thinking what normally comes naturally. I dont think we need to throw away the whole team because of one crap game. I thought Newcastle were very poor and we played at their level. hope for the best next saturday... It's all we can do.
