Intetesting game this one, A continuation of the Leeds game me thinks. We would be a big scalp to them in their fight for relegation survival but this match is going to require some cool heads especially at the back, right Mings! Who will partner him? I would say Hause but rumour has it Chambers may get his full debut? Buendia a big doubt so maybe a Start for Chuckie, that midfield will needs to be strong!
I'm going for a 2-2 draw but really, anything could happen.

this might sound like a bit of a gamble but I would play Hause and Mings at the back with Chambers in the holding mid role (assuming Emi2 is out), and push coutinho jj and dougie further forward, my only concerns would be will two lefties at centreback work, and is Chambers matchfit for 90 minutes
    Emi 1
    cash hause mings digne
    chambers sjm
    dougie jj coutinho
ings or watkins (surely need to find out if ings can do it, ollie has turned into a threepenny bit when the ball comes to him atm)
    thoughts????

At first glance, I would agree with you OSV. But I would worry about ASM taking a left-footed CB down the outside right. Cash of course will be halfway up the other end of the pitch, as usual.

Tis a shame that a right-footed CB acted so petulantly, again, with ASM on the horizon.

Sansom must be an absolute melt in training, why else play Dougie, in his current form, ahead of him?

Something isn’t quite right with Ollie. Fatigue? Has his head been turned? Stress at home? Trouble at t’mill?

There's no difference playing 2 left footed CBs or 2 Right footed CBs.

I want to see Sansom play a game of football for us. And yes it's time for Ings to start and latch onto a thru ball from Coutinho or Ramsey.

Ollie is a new father and I reckon that's what's getting to him.

Maybe not Sam, but there is a better balance between a L&R pairing and a RR or LL pairing.

We struggle defensively as it is, and are not good enough, as a defensive unit (incl DM), to choose to field an unbalanced back 4, especially when we have a ready-made replacement. The signing of Chambers was for this kind of situation.

I think he’ll give that two up top combo another go.

    Evening, lads.

I think you might just edge this one. Howe has us playing much better football but the key difference has been Trippier. Not only does he do his own job extremely well but he makes those around him raise their game. With him on one side and your man Targett on the other, we're greater than the sum of our parts. Without them, as we will be on Sunday, we're back to the defence that conceded 8 billion goals before they arrived.
Mind, although you've got Coutinho (great bit of business, that), we've got Saint Maximin who, if he turns up, will cause you problems. Set to be a decent game.
Good luck for the season...after tomorrow, obvs.

Just what is it with our defence, the same one that got 15 clean sheets last season (albeit we now have Digne in place of Targett for the last 3) - couldn't cope with Leeds then Everton hammer them today.

I like Sanson, just don't think he has 90mins in him but gives his all and Ramsey's running from deep means he can't be pushed further forward so it has to be McGinn up there if Buendia isn't fit. Hopefully after such a long break between games Ings has got himself fit, Ollie I think is struggling to adapt and his body language shows there's something off.

    Emi
    Cash/Hause/Mings/Digne
    Luiz/Sanson/Ramsey
    Coutinho/McGinn
    Ings

If Buendia is fit then McGinn drops back in place of Luiz with Sanson just ahead of him.

Evening Zippity. We never win at your place, even after a Yorke hat trick. When we did, it was because of a punch up between Dyer and that absolute tw@ that is currently managing the ‘Lepers of small heath’.

For me, it doesn’t matter about Trippier being out, or ‘Waterford Crystal Targett’ being unavailable. ASM is some beast of a player. A player that attracts opposition markers like moths to a flame. If he’s got his party hat on, then he’ll destroy Cash. That is of course if Cash doesn’t get him, and a red card, first.

No Zippity, I ain't confident at all, but wouldn’t be surprised if we were to pinch a win, what with the expectations of 48000+ rowdy fuxxers on their case.

On a final note, when are you lads gonna get in line with Premier League Regulations, about away fans having access to pitch level seating? Even Man Urinal accommodates away fans at pitch level now. I’d expect it from them at the ‘Stadium of Sh1te’, but neither of us are likely to face them in the league, any time soon.
