Just going to mention the elephant in the room as someone who has no love for either of the old firm and all the ills they bring upon our country.

Lot of love being thrown about regarding Lennon, however I don't believe he'll be universally accepted at the club. I may be wrong and everybody to a man, woman and child will rise above that but I have my doubts. The crowds are dwindling and no one wants to see them drop any more

Gibson is probably best placed than anyone to save us as he knows the players, knows the importance and can see what areas are the problem. Would like to think so!

Heard a rumour today that Brian rice, ex Hamilton manager, is in talks with the club about taking over as manager, however there is no guarantees that he will be getting the job. Apparently queens are worried that there will be a lack of interest in the job from established managers

Queens require a manager with real hunger in their belly and a proven track record.

I wouldn't concern ourselves with any perception of established managers not wanting to come to Palmerston. Beggars cannot be choosers, - but equally, - if they were to do a good job who knows where they might land, - that is the incentive awaiting them.

If Lennon or someone of that ilk were remotely interested, - I'd take them in a shot.

I'm completely with Fatfan on this one, and under no circumstances would I expect players to be abused by anyone. 100% encouragement from a manager brimming with enthusiasm is what we need, backed up by the same commitment from the players.

I think Wullie Gibson's a great guy, but with just 12 games left, it's time to bring in the big guns.

Jardi, regarding your contention that Queens need a manager with hunger in their belly and a proven track record, I'd say you're half right. Look at the difference Dougie Imrie has made to Morton - he doesn't really have a track record as it's his first managerial post, although to those in the know it's clear he has been working behind the scenes for quite some time. What he has done though is bring a positive attitude and a will to win - instead of the "poor wee us, how can we expect to compete against big teams like, er, Arbroath" that Gus Mcpherson had, he has just put players in their correct positions and changed the hoofball tactics to something a bit more Camp Nou. Tactical changes during the game? No problem. Player not performing? Subbed. It's a refreshing change and as a bonus has brought the supporters back onside.

It's not rocket science. If Queens want to save themselves, they need to change things and get the best out of what they have. With a vanilla appointment from the pool of the usual journeymen, nothing will change. Time to think out the box and maybe take a gamble on someone who has something new to offer. At this point in the season, there's nothing to lose.

I agree that picking from the usual pool of experienced yet previously failed sacked managers is seldom a success as they tend to fairly rapidly return to that pool but I would humbly suggest that by choosing Gibson at this moment we are taking the gamble you are talking about. Give the man a chance, with an able assistant at his side, support him to the hilt and we will see what he can do.

Hope Willie does well and if he gets the job as a permanent role or not asks Mr Hewitson to seriously look at the Queens scouting system - if we have one - because some of the lads Johnson signed are no way good enough at this level which tbh is not that great.
