    However on checking, it was directed by Mike Leigh, not Ken Loach.

    As far as I am aware animal cruelty does not feature in the film nor does it in any of Ken Loach's films (including Kes).

    I watched Another Year in the early hours of this morning and really enjoyed it,it is a sad film really about a couples friends and family which also starred Jim Broadbent and a couple of other actors that I have seen in Mike Leigh films,they work well together so maybe that is why he likes the same actors,after it had finished it made me think about life which a good film should do

    Rita,Sue and Bob too. Absolutely brilliant film and filmed in Bradford. I presume everybody will have seen that. If not it's a must watch. 🙂

    Coincidentally there was another Mike Leigh film on Film4 last night called Happy Go Lucky which I enjoyed,I dunno if they are going to show a series of them but I hope so,that driving instructor would do my head in but at the same time I saw a lot of me in him

    Classic film Alf which I never tire of watching,Bob and Rita both played great parts in Happy Valley as well
