Isn't the main issue here is that she is a mere child aged just 15.
The insinuations are that she has been heavily influenced by her entourage and the Russian state.
Easily controlled , easily led and easily manipulated

Here you are drink this it's just a protein shake

    Victim rather than a cheat?

“Easily controlled, easily led and easily manipulated”

    The motto of the BBC

I was just thinking of what a typical 15 year old girl is like Grist
I wasn't there, I don't know her so I can't really be sure but it's a distinct possibility with the environment she was brought up in.

No one knows she knowingly cheated either but she's getting condemned

No 15 year old athlete in any sport in any country gets to the top without a significant influence 'of some kind' from adults. She's been manipulated.

You could be right about her being manipulated and yes it is highly feasible that she could have been drip fed “additives” without knowing

It was interesting to note that after she failed the test every camera shot of her showed her surrounded by teddy bears. Perhaps I don’t know many 15 year old girls but all of those I do know would think soft toys are something not to be displayed in public if they still have them

Surely the question of age ought to be relevant to eligibility to compete not to the imposition of sanctions for cheating or other transgression? If a competitor is unable to make informed decisions due either to age or mental state they ought not to be there.

It's not just about sport though
Young impressionable children can be manipulated and controlled for a variety of reasons as the people of Rotherham know only too well.
Unfortunately because she's Russian it's unlikely the authorities will ever be held to account. Similarities with the authorities in Rotherham again

You make a good point Wendun. They have put a minimum age on other sports including gymnastics.

This girl has been caught cheating via a drugs test. The people that provided the drugs with or without her knowledge or consent have been caught as well.
She should have been kicked out of sport forever as should anyone else that takes drugs.

It's a disgrace to allow her to continue because it may or may not effect her mentally due to her age! What about the other athletes?

    They all know the rules!

Agreed life ban for all sports people taking drugs.
