    The Final Countdown (2021-22) (Final)

Now I've got that Europe song into your head for the rest of the day, I'm going to go ahead and do it, tempt fate and start the clock ticking on our road to The Championship. I would use The Magic Number but know that Brin is against that method (it's now 0 for certain promotion ) so what I'm going to do is count down (I suppose it's a count up really) the teams as they can no longer mathematically catch us until we reach the various stages of achievement.

    1. Doncaster Rovers
    2. Crewe Alexandra
    3. Gillingham
    4. Morecambe
================ Yay! We can't be relegated
    5. AFC Wimbledon
    6. Lincoln City
    7. Shrewsbury Town
    8. Fleetwood Town
    9. Charlton Athletic
    10. Burton Albion
    11. Cambridge United
    12. Cheltenham Town
    13. Accrington Stanley
    14. Bolton Wanderers
    15. Ipswich Town
    16. Portsmouth
    17. Oxford United
    18. Sheffield Wednesday
=============== Hooray! We are in the playoffs.
    19. Wycombe Wanderers
    20. Plymouth Argyle
    21. Sunderland
    22. MK Dons
=============== Get the beers in! We're promoted.
    23.
    =============== Champions!

Well we are up and running at the cost of our local rivals. 1 down, 22 to go.

Gillingham bite the dust after tonight's 1-1 draw against Wigan. One more and we're safe from relegation

Well a good night was had by all as 2 more teams are now unable to catch us and we are officially safe from relegation. 13 more teams and at least a place in the play offs is mathematically secure although in past years, the 72pts we have now has sometimes been enough!

I keep working through the fixtures and depending on my mood we end up with either 72 points or 102 points.

72pts, that's some mood. Best stay off here on those days

72 points is I think 12 more than my pre-season prediction on here. I'm usually a pretty good judge of these things so I'm baffled.
