Someone mentioned he was lacking fitness. Must be seriously behind if he can't even get a run out with the reserves.
He must have picked up a knock or something otherwise he would have surely played some part

I came on to ask the same question. Some of our transfer policy is baffling. Wigan fans say Tilt has massively strengthened their defense. Then we pass over the Morecambe goal machine and bring in a guy not fit enough for the reserves.

Kelly has been signed for the future.
He's never played at this level before, it's a step up for him.
When we signed him PW said he would only use him sparingly, 20 / 25 minutes or so till he reached the required fitness levels.

If he's not been picked for the reserves it could well suggest a calf strain or something of that nature. ( Pure speculation on my part. )

Don't expect too much from him when he does make an appearance.

Fair enough, Casper but given the Ladapo uncertainty at the time and JJ's rawness it strikes me as baffling just the same. And I live near Morecambe and know several fans and the Stockton thing was a done deal at £500k. He wanted to come. RUFC pulled the plug in mid-January.

I don't doubt he wanted to come wendun. That £500k with signing on fees, agents fee and any substantial add-ons could have increased considerably.
Kelly was out of contract if memory serves me right, wouldn't have cost anywhere near what Cole Stockton would have cost.

The question should be is Cole Stockton a Championship striker.
Like I said Kelly is one for the future, Smith is the main man this season assisted by FL and goals through midfield.

Maybe look at signing Stockton at the end of the season.... depending which division we are in.

If that's the case I would imagine stockton was lined up to replace ladapo but seeing as ladapo didn't go anywhere then it made any stockton deal redundant
