You are discussing the behaviour of the goldfinches

Your points relating to the behaviour of your goldfinches may be perfectly valid in evaluating goldfinch behaviour, but they are utterly irrelevant to the consideration of the behaviour of the blackbirds: even if those behaviours are exacty the same. Unless in some way you feel that goldfinch behaviour is influenced by blackbird behaviour or vica versa, which I dont think has been raised as a consideration.

Yu are in effect seeking to exonerate the blackbirds from not drinking by saying that lots of goldfinches dont drink either, based on your observations (which differ to my observations).

If this still doesnt work for you, then I am afraid I cannot explain it, and suggest that you read a basic text on set theory and logic.

Of course I don’t think ‘that goldfinch behaviour is influenced by blackbird behaviour or v/v’, that’s always been part of my point, but in our hypotheses the Blackbirds have, quite independently, behaved the same way as the Goldfinches.

To go back to last weekend, the same is true of the black passengers on your train as it is of the white supporters in the club shop. There was an almost complete lack of compliance regarding the wearing of masks by both groups, hence my conclusions...1) There was little, if anything, to choose between the behaviour of the black people you observed and the white people I observed...and, partly because of this...
2) It is unwise to reach conclusions based on such small anecdotal samples, which is all I have ever suggested.

The fact that ‘my’ Goldfinches and white football supporters are in Derbyshire while ‘your’ black passengers and Blackbirds are in Surrey matters not one jot.
Both types of birds were in a garden where food was provided and both sets of people were in environments where the distinction between being indoors and outdoors is a little vague at a time when the restrictions were, rightly or wrongly, about to be lifted.
Ultimately though...they behaved the same and I don’t need a mathematical/business qualification to recognise that fact.

As far as you and I are concerned, at least we’ve argued amicably today. I really don’t get your point and you clearly don’t get mine.
I’m not going to interpret having the last word as a ‘victory’, but as far as I’m concerned we can only conclude that both the ethnic examples we’ve spoken of were disappointingly at fault.

I will reiterate what I said before, my highlighting of your obsession with BAME "over representation" in the media, had nothing to do with whether it existed, it was about the fact that you actually complained about it and what that says about you!

Clearly that question confuses you, so you fall back to the "I was right" claim, when that has nothing to do with my highlighting your incipient racism.

I'm beginning to realise that you either don't understand, or choose not to understand what I post, but I could not have been more clearer in numerous posts - I was questioning why it concerned you? I even moved on to that question in detail in a recent post and as is usual with you when asked a question you have failed to answer.

As for swearing at you, you get that response when, your patronising (most recently when you called me "son"), when you make your sarcastic jibes and when frankly trying to debate becomes frustrating because of the way you fail to acknowledge when your wrong, employ your usual attempts to change the subject, confuse or pretend your being humorous!

As for the ‘different sense of humour’. Only one problem with that...your Crow/Blackbird ‘joke’...it wasn’t funny...you’d just made a mistake and, as Swale has already pointed out, confused Blackbirds and Rooks.

I never claimed that my Blackbird/Crow comment was funny, I believe I referred to it as lighthearted - not the same thing, check your thesaurus

I wasn't 'wrong', there was no confusion on my part anyway the use of particular bird species is interchangeable. Just because Swale says something doesn't make it right
