Like I've said previously What is the point of football anymore? This is why I'm totally not bothered what the score is at the moment. I watched us v Boro and even when we were one nil up I knew we would lose. I switched my mind off the baggies the moment the final whistle went with a passive acceptance. I then read something totally unrelated with football and yawned before I went to bed. If we walked this league and got promoted I know we would be relegated the same year because nothing has changed. So....WHAT IS THE POINT. (and no I'm not heading for the knife draw 68 because there is more to life than football thankfully)

I agree and with previous poster aswell. I recently went to a Frickley Athletic game (v Stocksbridge) and granted the atmosphere is knowhere near the same but it was refreshing watching players who looked like they gave a sh!t , arguing with the ref, managers arguing amongst themselves and you can hear the lot! Fans at every level are just as passionate, the irony is the younger players aspire to be well played PL players , the fans want to get close to the promised land, the new pavilion / bar area is built from PL money , yet I despise alot of what footballs about nowadays at the top level, but enjoyed watching 7/8 levels down from PL money in a bar that was built courtesy of the PL!!

What I will say is though, that you wont see the directors of WBA mingling with the fans and talking transfer targets as you do lower down the football pyramid. If you get disillusioned with WBA then I would strongly recommend going and watching a local non league team as it will likely rekindle a what is a disappearing passion in football, and the club will actually appreciate your support and business!

This is all part of the reason that the gates at my non league club Stourbridge have risen so much in recent years.

We’ve gone from a 250 average to around 800 average and a lot of the people watching were fervent Albion, Wolves, Blues and Villa fans.

Mostly guys aged 40 to 70 who’d fallen out of love with pro football but loved the atmosphere and the laugh at non league level.

Baggies have been in our family for four generations now. Won't stop being a fan. I just know what the club needs and can't see us ever getting it.

The good thing is you can walk around all of the ground with a pint in your hand! You get treat like an adult! I dont blame folk - watching the Reds is a bad habit I've got into, but midweek evening games or when the Reds are away, internationals, Fa cup weekends, it certainly a decent outlet

I dont blame folk for seeing what else is on the doorstep.

A 1000 fans throwing a £1000 apiece in a year would be interesting at a non-league club as could do some serious damage at that level

I have been thinking of going to Stourbridge for a few years, just a bus ride down the road and I am eligible for a bus pass. Stourbridge were formed in 1876 and their fierce rivals Halesowen were formed in 1873.
