I blame the government for what is their fault ie taking money from corrupt Russians and allowing London to become a money laundering capital. Its why they convinced you mugs to leave the EU.
As for Corbyn he hated everything that Putin stands for. You're living in the wrong century. Russians aren't socialists these days.

Virtually everything that’s happened in UK-US politics in the last 5-10 years has encouraged and strengthened Putin and his aims. Trump, Brexit, Johnson, Corbyn, dirty money, political donations, the Russia report, and Salisbury have happened alongside the invasion of Georgia, the annexation of Crimea and atrocities in Syria. Putin has repeatedly made it clear what sort of man he is, and it has suited various people to ignore it.

The prospect of how all this ends is both depressing and terrifying.

While I agree with you about Putin, I'm not sure what can be done with rogue states like Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, Belarus, etc, without a world war that would decimate the planet and seriously curtail our promotion push.

The thing all of these countries have in common is people living in comparative poverty under authoritarian regimes that exhibit a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of dissent or human rights. The average GDP per capita in Russian is just $11,000, which is truly obscene when you think of how many oligarchs were created in the 1990s. Until these people can get rid of their dictators - which they can't without external help - we're doomed. Today Ukraine, tomorrow Taiwan - and no amount of sanctions will change anything either.

The only positive story I've read about the whole unfolding Ukraine tragedy is the Russian newspaper that's planning to publish its next edition in Russian and Ukrainian as a sign of solidarity with its sister country. A seriously brave editor, who is sure to be packed off to Siberia.

...it's not often that I agree with BFT; but for once, he's right. Decades of feeble appeasement to the corrupt mafia-led Russian dictatorship. There never was a truth more appropriate than 'if you want peace you should be prepared for war.' The lily-livered lefty yoghurt knitters have had their way and look where we are - no self-respecting armed forces worth the name. We teamed up with the self-serving EU who wouldn't say boo to the big ugly Bear on it's doorstep. Germany only looks after Germany and its arrogance that it can deal comfortably with the dictator Putin could well bounce back to hurt them seriously; I really hope so.
If it weren't so serious it would be funny - watching RT (Russia Today) recycling old photographs of damaged buildings holding cards (in this case) with the date 23.02.2022; and parroting Moscow diatribes against the NATO aggressor. As Putin applies his bayonet strategy - keep pushing while the flesh is soft; stop if you hit bone - I really hope we allow a fast track Ukrainian entry into NATO. Bullies don't listen to reason; you have to use blunt instruments to stop them. It's no good pretending that the Russian people will get rid of Putin ... they'll never get to know what's happening.

Watching various News feeds today. Intelligence which has been excellent so far, is saying, all is not well in the Putin boardroom. It could lead to his own downfall. All the people interviewed today that know him, say he has become very twisted.

An extraordinary odd world-view. Siding with Putin over one of our allies.

The ones who operate in the spheres we are concerned with are. The others can barely feed themselves. And anyway if a few get caught in sanctions crossfire so be it. Maybe they will think about opposing Putin.

    .
I’m not at all saying we should have gone to war with a nuclear state, I’m saying the sanctions that are only now being talked about and much more should have been imposed long ago.

Alongside of course, not allowing Putin’s cronies to buy up half of London’s real estate, donate to our political parties, influence our elections and referendums, be admitted to the House of Lords, and buy our football clubs.

Electing a piece of filth as US president on whom the FSB has a ton of kompromat probably wasn’t a good idea either.

Blackhorse, I’ve told you before, smoking crack isn’t good for you.

    Well, I'm a bit worried....

Putin & co have proved themselves to be seriously deranged. As per 1938/9, the "civilised" world can only appease so much. Eventually, he will have to be confronted = WW3?

In which case, btw, will the NL be suspended or abandoned?
