The EU, US, UK and other countries have only just collectively agreed to cut some - not all, some - Russian banks from using SWIFT so accusing the EU for doing exactly the same as the UK and US etc is nonsense and factually incorrect.
Not that it will be that effective as India is already looking to let Russians open rupee accounts so that Russians can continue to trade with and through them.

Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, said the allies would also stop Russia from "using its war chest," by paralysing the assets of its central bank. They agreed to freeze its transactions and prevent the central bank from liquidating its assets.

She added there would be a crackdown on so-called "golden passports" that "let wealthy Russians connected to the Russian government become citizens of our countries and gain access to our financial systems".

And Germany have just agreed to allow the export of German-manufactured advanced weaponry to Ukraine.

Perhaps we should be asking why our gutless, spineless government isn't freezing Russian assets? Perhaps it's because of the massive Russian donations to the Tory party and their influence over our government? Especially those Tory donors who have known links with the Kremlin?

    Not having that lusty.

We shamed the EU into some sort of retaliatory action and the groundswell of German public opinion against the Russian invasion made the German Chancellor react, albeit slowly.

The hypocrisy of Johnson and the Tories who have been laundering and benefitting from Russia's "dirty money" for the last decade is another matter altogether.

"Not that it will be that effective as India is already looking to let Russians open rupee accounts so that Russians can continue to trade with and through them."

I did notice India abstaining in the UN vote.

"Ukraine Russia Crisis: India, China and the UAE abstained from voting in the UN Security Council."

"New Delhi: India on Friday abstained on a US-sponsored UN Security Council resolution that deplored in the strongest terms Russia's aggression against Ukraine. New Delhi said dialogue is the only answer to settling differences and disputes and voiced "regret" that the path of diplomacy was given up. The resolution did not pass as permanent member Russia used its veto. In the 15-member UN Security Council, the resolution received 11 votes in favour and three abstentions, including by India, China and the UAE. Sources said by abstaining,

India has retained the option of reaching out to relevant sides in an effort to bridge the gap and find the middle ground, with an aim to foster dialogue and diplomacy."

I was wondering what the real reason was, and as always the is to be found by following the money.

I think we should ask Labour's Barry Gardiner about this, he seems to be something of an expert on laundering and benefitting from foreign 'dirty money'.

    From the above UN vote.

'''India on Friday abstained on a US-sponsored UN Security Council resolution that deplored in the strongest terms Russia's aggression against Ukraine. New Delhi said dialogue is the only answer to settling differences and disputes and voiced "regret" that the path of diplomacy was given up.''
    Conclusion
''dialogue is the only answer to settling differences and disputes ''

    From the Hamas charter
There is no solution for the Palestinian problem except by Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are but a waste of time, an exercise in futility.' (Article 13)
    Conclusion
'Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are but a waste of time,

Thing is mon ami we are taking about Russia invading the Ukraine and the Tory Party receiving donations from Russian oligarchs.

Abramovich has already run for cover.

If you want to discuss Gardiner and Miss Lee, please feel free to open another thread.

    I don’t like Arabs Balan.…

In my opinion Arab countries are united in their disgraceful disinclination to provide succour to the Palestinians who are trapped on the Gaza Strip. As far as they are concerned, the Palestinians are "our dear and beloved brothers," just as long as they stay far away from the Arab countries and remain a headache solely for Israel.

Here is what Egypt and the Arab states should be telling Israel: "Thank you for all that you have done so far to help our brothers and sisters trapped on the Gaza Strip. However, these are people are part of our family, therefore, it falls incumbent on us in the Arab brotherhood to step in and relieve you of your burden.”

I just cannot see Egypt or any other Muslim country or leader stepping up to the plate. It’s much better to blame Israel and let the Palestinians rot under the auspices of Hamas.

Israel and Egypt are equally complicit in denying two million imprisoned people an exit out of Palestine. Where are likes of Trump, Blair and Obama, and the United Nations when you need them?

Hamas are right: 'Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are but a waste of time". If 2 million people were allowed to leave the Gaza Strip who would fill it? Nature abhors a vacuum and all that. The Palestinians are trapped between a rock and a hard place.

Listening to and watching Putin, his behaviour reminds me chillingly of Hitler’s last days as portrayed in Der Untergang as he sees real and imaginary enemies everywhere and is unable to distinguish between them. There must be a few very very worried people in the Kremlin wondering where this is all heading.

Come on BT, why not do some reading especially 'The Hamas Charter' it states Article 13 )"There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavours."

The charter states that "our struggle against the Jews is very great and very serious" and calls for the eventual creation of an Islamic state in Palestine, in place of Israel and the Palestinian Territories.
Tony Blair claimed that Hamas does not accept the existence of Israel and continues to pursue its objectives through terror and violence.
    1988 charter
Article 1 describes Hamas as an Islamic Resistance Movement with an ideological programme of Islam.

Article 6 Hamas is uniquely Palestinian, and "strives to raise the banner of Allah over every inch of Palestine, for under the wing of Islam followers of all religions can coexist in security and safety where their lives, possessions and rights are concerned." It claims that the world will descend into chaos and war without Islam, quoting Muhammad Iqbal.

Article 7 describes Hamas as "one of the links in the chain of the struggle against the Zionist invaders" and claims continuity with the followers of the religious and nationalist hero Izz ad-Din al-Qassam from the Great Arab Revolt as well as the Palestinian combatants of the First Arab-Israeli War. It adds a hadith claiming that at the Day of Judgment all Jews will be killed.

''at the Day of Judgment all Jews will be killed.''

(BT) '' If 2 million people were allowed to leave the Gaza Strip who would fill it? ''

Article 14 The liberation of Palestine is the personal duty of every Palestinian.

Article 22 Makes sweeping claims about Jewish influence and power. It specifically claims that the Jews were responsible for instigating multiple revolutions and wars, including the French Revolution, World War I, and the Russian Revolution. It also claims that Jews control the United Nations, and that they are supported by "the imperialistic forces in the Capitalist West and Communist East."

1988 Charter stated: ″Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam invalidates it, just as it invalidated others before it″.

Really BT ,you want to open the floodgates ???
''You will never make it to be a politician ,but on the other hand ,you could replace Dyce?? We may loose every match but you could replace him''
