Is it fair to say that Saturdays game against MK is the most significant game of the season?
Regardless what happens on Tuesday night we have effectively at least 10point advantage over MK (if you include our vastly superior goal difference). Therefore I would suggest with a draw and more so with a win the gap will be too much for them to overcome.
Therefore you want your best eleven on the field on Saturday. My best eleven of those most likely to be available are
Vickers
Harding/Icky/Wood
Ogbene/Wiles/Barlaser/Rathbone/ Ferguson
Smith and Ladapo.
Therefore on Tuesday I would rest the following:-
Wood replaced by Macdonald or Reg
Ogbene replaced by Tutu
Barlaser replaced by Lindsay
Rathbone replaced by Odoffin
Smith replace by Kayode
You know it makes sense!
What do you think gru?
You could take the alternate view? Of the 12 games left, 6 are against top half teams and 6 are against bottom half teams. Win the 6 against Shrewsburyx2, Burton, Charlton, Lincoln and Gillingham and we'll be promoted with ease. Picking up points in the other 6 will secure the title. Maybe Tuesday is more important?
The next one is the most important. We need 6 wins from any of them.
Beat the easier sides and don't lose vs to ones at the top
In a very short time the others will run out of games to catch us
Season management
Beat Shrewsbury and pressure largely off for MK match for me. Win it will be 15 points, draw 12, and lose 9. Hardly the end of the world. As long as we beat Shrews the worst we can end the weekend is 9 clear of MK.
Shrews bigger game in a strange way, in my opinion. Lose that and then the pressure to not lose against MK will ramp up. 6 points feels a lot closer than 9.
Win the game in hand and why worry about mk? 13 clear with 12 to play
Make that 13 Infront. 11 to go
