After having an hard match down at Plymouth and the coach broke down, which wasn't ideal,PW decided to give a few of the overworked players a rest.Coming away with four points from two difficult away grounds, I will take every day.We have averaged over two points a game this season through sheer hard work. These players are not machines they can suffer through fatigue and playing opposition that want to beat the top of the table, every time we have had to face these last few months. All in all it was our worst second half this season probably,we just couldn't get our act together. In the first half I thought we looked comfortable and should have gone in in front.Barlaser is a major player and against MKD alongside Rathbone we will be a different side.

I think MK will be still very wary about us and not push forwards unless we go in front. They will be happy with a draw, same as us, then hope to beat Cheltenham at home Tuesday night and then have a good go at Wigan on Saturday at home. If they beat them then the pressure will be dangerously high for Wigan. I hope i'm right but i don't think MK will be thinking of catching us, it's Wigan, with keeping an eye on retaining a play-off position......bit of a "stick or twist" time.........UTM.

Even after tonights poor performance, it would be the same as drawing against Plymouth( good point) and beating the Shrews, it's still 4 good points.

Just got back after a nightmare journey home

Game of two halves. Only one team in it first half and we should have been 2/3 up but second half we went back to our old ways of two seasons ago where we couldn't control the ball, misplaced passes, not finding a man and losing out on virtually all of the second balls.
They should have scored three at least but in the last few minutes we could have won it with both Freddie and Woody glancing headers wide that on another day would have won it

Probably a first in that the ref only called one minute of overtime at the end of the second half and even stranger that Shrews were wasting time after about 85mins. I was pleased on both counts because they looked like they would win it with every attack so not quite sure why they did that

Angus was seriously off the pace and was a liability in his positional sense , anticipation and awareness.

A very disappointing away following of less than 500 which for a team at the top and at the business end of the season is poor

Last word on the Shropshire Constabulary. There were quite a few Police at different points on the way back to our car and I have to say the female police officers were some of the prettiest I've ever seen. Obviously a priority in that part of the country

Totally agree about Angus. I made this point last week. It is not the time to be sentimental. Yes his injury is regrettable but he is a L2 defender at best.

Regarding the away following, I know many people who are now voting with their feet and because of recent incidents at away matches with the hooligan element, are refusing to travel to away matches.

Good on em. I told the club years ago that the yobs would eventually have a negative impact on the away support.

I think it’s fair to say we got away with that one in the second half.

They gave us too much respect in the first half and then they were far better than us in the second.

Too many changes made and none of them played them selves into the team for Saturday.

One positive last night was Desmond's first half performance. Virtually unplayable at times and way above the standards I've seen so far so we might have a real gem there. They put three players on him at times and he still wriggled past on quite a few occasions

Unfortunately in the second half he couldn't replicate it but as the whole team was off colour I wouldn't want to blame him as an individual

Watching it on ifollow i thought we played well 1st half, warne subs seemed to encourage the shrews.
One thing is certain and this is no disrepect to odoffin but barlaser is our link in midfield hoping he was saving for saturday along with rathbone

It was a very strange match where we were much the better in the first half.I understand why Warney took Rathbone and Harding off as he says, they have been working on full cylinders and need that rest after a long hard journey down at Plymouth..However we did miss them and without doubt we missed Barlaser.Captain hindsight could cr.iticise the substitutions but I agree with PW we have to,not overwork some of our excellent squad. We now move on to this massive match on Saturday against MKD.

Pedantic I know Jimmy but a cow's ar$e is actually the target for a banjo. If it had been a barn door then Shrewsbury would surely have won comfortably 😉.

Shrewsbury were unlucky not to have won. We had a bad day at the office.
