The only difference I can see is the style of play, under Ardley we didn't really have one. Birchnall we do but the results are just as inconsistent under both. We currently sit in 7th with Bromley with a game in hand a point behind and Grimsby breathing down our neck. How ironic it would be for us to miss out on the play offs and Ardley gain promotion on the samll budget he has. At the moment that is more likely than us getting out of this league!!

It would seem, unfortunately, that gnats knackers are about as rare as hen's teeth. Couldn't find either on Ebay.

To be honest i dont think he has any input. I think he was only given the job just to calm supporters who were unhappy with the appointment of Burchnall..

I don't think we are even close to being a top* team. When we are good we are very good, but we throw in far too many poor performances. I think we have a few issues to address before we can compete for the automatic place.

    * That's based on 'top' meaning top, and not top 7 which is where we are now.

Ardley is meant to be an experienced manager where as IB is a new inexperienced manager and seems to be getting more from a squad with less funds.
We and IB are work in progress , I see enough in the squad and IB to see a succesful conclusion.
Yes we need a monster at centre back and a hardman in midfield but to me it's fine tinkering. The framework is there we just need a couple of additions.
    Fair comment.

The only thing I would add is that IB needs to recognise - or certainly communicate more assertively to his players - that results matter more than style. If opponents are allowing us to pass them off the park and win 6-1 then great, but if a team comes to press and disrupt with intensity, like Chesterfield did last night, we've got to engage in that battle and use more direct tactics to relieve the pressure. There's no point repeatedly trying to play out from the back if you can't retain possession and you're losing the ball in dangerous areas. Get the ball out of your own half and away from your goal as fast as possible, and then play your football in your opponents' half. Simple as that.

IB isn't under any significant 'pressure' yet, but we've reached the stage where these obvious lessons must be learned and applied, otherwise patience will wear thin, with the fans if not the owners. This will be the key to determining whether Burchnall is a better manager than Ardley, or whether we've employed two managers in a row with the same fundamental weakness.

I think you will find that gnats knackers are universal units of measurement...

I dont think any team has blown us away this season...even Grimsby at ours we should have been out of sight by half time...
Everyone out their idolising stockport and wrexham seem to forget we have beaten them both and those reminiscing Ardley forget we dominated and beat solihull.
I believe we are close to being a top one
    /two team.

Dont forget the 2 lorry drivers who managed Salford...
