    Andy Carroll.

With all the criticism aimed at Albion players, and rightly so, there is one player that I would exempt from this. I may be mistaken but I didn't notice Carroll lose any aerial duels and when the ball was at his feet or on his chest he usually managed to lay the ball off. The problem is that there is nobody ever there to play off him. OK, he hasn't scored yet but I can't think of many, if any, gilt opportunities that he has missed. We just haven't created any for him. I was never a fan of his but he certainly has made the effort for us.

He is the only one who is putting a shift in at the moment although I did notice last night that even he was getting a bit hacked off with what was going on.

Reports say that there was no ‘atmosphere’ in the ground last night, I expect that the players feel it and are aware of dwindling support. That does not, though, excuse lack of effort; there didn’t seem to be any desire. Sad.

Carroll is not the player he used to be .... too many injuries have taken their toll. But if we are going to play him then let’s at least play to his strengths. Play down the flanks and put in good crosses. We are just not doing this so can’t see the point if playing him tbh.

Only player who come of the pitch annoyed with the defeat last night.
On a short term deal on a lower wage than most, who don't seem bothered.

It's hardly the stuff of rocket science to workout that a target man needs the ball played into the box from wide positions.

We did this on occasions earlier in the season with a target man who couldn't hit a cows @rse with a banjo but is slotting away for Cardiff.

We get a better, more proven all be it older target man in and stop flinging balls into the box. Seems very Albion.

Reminds me of when we sold Regis and Thompson only to fling more balls into the box when they'd gone too.

Carroll tries hard and is the exception from every other lazy w anker so that’s admired.

That said apart from the threat in the air he’s past it now! You need another Mitrovic and he’s scored that number of goals for a clear reason!

Undoubtedly gives us a full shift. Not only as a striker but also with many defensive headers in our penalty area. He must be distraught with the effort put in by the majority of his team mates.

I do agree he tries but so did HRK and he got pilloried.

For me the sooner we get Dike back the better. Andy Carroll adds more in his defensive cover at corners than he does at the other end. Sorry.
