Bloody hell Swale, if you had voted 'no' the faint hope I have would now be no hope!

Maybe the vote numbers are down to the phone thing, but to give us some comfort the bookies rate our chances of being promoted between 11% and 15%, which is a fair bit better than the current poll.

Yeah, maybe a bit harsh but I wasn’t just thinking of this thread.

I think it’s just the frustration showing of supporters thinking we should be in a better place for all the talk that’s all. I know if it wasn’t for the Reedtz brothers we probably wouldn’t have a club now, and being where we are now would be just a pipe dream if it wasn’t for the takeover. However life moves on, rightly so but people have raised concerns from the beginning about this plan not working in the National league. As someone else mentioned interest will wain the longer we are stuck in the National league and dissenting voices is the start of it.

Most of us can see that the issue is the lack of bite in midfield. If fans can see it, the coack/ owners should. I appreciate the fact that the brothers saved us but at the moment, they seem to be condemning us to a long stay in this poxy league.

Not this season. Add a bit of steel in the right places and we will return to the football league in the next two seasons. Think we all have to accept that this project is a learning curve for our coach and owners. I think they are trying to do it in the right way, ie playing good football which will sustain our progression over the coming years. I speak as someone who has only managed to see Notts in the flesh once this season, back in September, but felt then there was a lack of physicality in the team. In my view a couple of hard men in defence and midfield are needed to complement the existing personnel to create a team capable of getting promoted out of this league, especially considering the level of competition for the two places available.

Every signing the new system has made suggests that they don't think "bite" is important, even though every successful side in any league will have the right balance of flair and grit. The striking thing about the best teams is how hard they work with and without the ball, and that may be one of our problems. We want to play a game based on athleticism, but don't necessarily have the players who can do that.

If it were me, I'd send Brunt back to Sheffield United as it's just not working out - though that might burn our bridges with them - and look to bring in a hard-running, hard-tackling, box-to-box midfielder like Ryan Yates to give us another option in the centre of the park. With all of the games coming up, we need options there, especially as JOB has disappeared without trace.

The manner in the way we lose matches, such as no bite in midfield, inability to defend corners and free kicks in our own half, susceptibility to concede a goal from a giant in the last few minutes and an obvous collapse of cohesion everywhere when plan "A" fails, is not found among top teams aiming for promotion. Oh you do see teams up ther temporarily, they have their days in the sun and then back in the shade but look who's up their now, does anyone have confidence in Notts eclipsing them? Two of them won't be in non-league next season but they will be replaced by two from L2 who you may assume ought to be able to handle themselves among such as us now regular also-rans.
