Agreed Shedka. Do not write him off. Once he's back & gets scoring he'll prove to be a decided asset. There are not many strikers out there with his pedigree. And Yeats, I think he is a Dundee United man, I'm liking his attitude. And as Shedka says it's McNulty we've to thank for getting Biamou here. 38 goals they combined in one of Coventry's promotion years. Get fit soon Marc McNulty.
"it's McNulty we have to thank for getting Biamou here".

He was clearly told January was a cost cutting exercise and we had to lose 'x amount' of players to balance the books and we are suffering as a result. If we're being honest with ourselves, if ever there was a time to do that, it was January. We had enough points in the bag to make relegation unlikely given how far St. Johnstone were behind us. We needed to try & balance the books at some point, so I'm reckoning January was as good a time as any. We've done it and here we are, still top six. We have McNulty, Harkes, Sporle, Biamou & Hoti all out of contract in the summer. Most, if not all, will leave, so hopefully we can then start to build a squad that is capable of putting on performances as well as picking up points.
I think you and Craigbrew have decent points but in your post above you start by saying Clark and McNulty. Shocking recruitment there because he should never have been brought back after a return of 4 in 30.

That wage could have been better used.

Clark is at best an impact sub, not a 12th minute impact sub.

That team last night had Butcher Harkes Clark and McNulty in it. I rest my case.

I've said it many times I think our recruitment has been suspect for quite a while now.

Whoever is in charge of the recruitment strategy made a big error in bringing McNulty back especially after the meagre return from last season.
He adds no value to the team, in fact quite the opposite, nothing sticks thus opposition get ball back more easy than they should.
He's one of the reasons our defence has had to be so good.
His link up play is non existent, even with Watt injured I would 100% play a youngster ahead of him, cannot be any worse.

After posting about recruitment maybe it's fair to qualify it a bit. Need look at what we are missing more than what we've got.

    Plus side
    Benji
    Shankland
    Freeman back
    Edwards

    Then
Mulgrew temporary fix but overall a plus
McMann good signing when he's exposed it's usually because he's had no protection
Niskanen think most would agree a plus
The Arsenal lad, what's going on

Levitt, why is our best midfielder a loanee
McDonald, bold but currently looking in the balance
    McNulty Nah
    Biamou crocked
    Watt aye

    Players still under contract
    Harkes Clark Pawlett

The coach - sometimes I get the feeling we're about to click eg v Well, then I realise it was an Arabian mirage in the desert. Why can he not get a blend of midfielders who can gel and create? Surely even with the players at his disposal that has to be possible. Telling that Mochrie looked better than ever last night but Harkes gets selected ahead of him every time.

I 100% Agree , i have said it before and i will say it again , you can't play that bad and start every game , unless from higher above , you can smell it a mile off, you think we are paying him that amount sitting on the bench , that happens all over the world , and if you say it never happens , you can't live in the real world, i would even put Harkes , what one good game in 10 , auto starter runs about headless chicken half the time, Well ...game really good, and its all went Pete Tong again.

It's possible to coach less gifted players than we have to be able to build an attack after getting the ball back in their own third. In fact it's possible to coach quite young kids to do it.

    Was that your rant?

Not quite, and this reply wont feature any of it either!

I am minded though to ask if you are basing your reply on having watched the Livi game, something that i thankfully did not see. If it is based on said game, i think it is harsh eluding to the Livi players being man for man less gifted than ours?

Sad fact is, there are players in that Livi team that i would welcome with open arms just now, and maybe some of the coaching staff as well!
