I can't imagine there were something approaching 1,300 season ticket holders not there yesterday who were counted.

The most similar gate this season - 6,934 - was for Torquay, the opening home game of the season and the first with no restrictions, so the first opportunity for many to go to a game in nearly 18 months against a team then assumed to be rival challengers for the title.

Maybe yesterday's figure was a genuine mistake, but I can't remember ever being more surprised at a Meadow Lane gate figure when there hasn't been a ticket offer on.
It was the clubs community day. The Family stand was much fuller than usual. Plus a few attending from over the water.

That seems a reasonable explanation to me, because I did notice the Family Stand was a lot more populated than usual. I think it was a genuine figure, and even though it was inflated in the sense of community offers and no other local games, we should be applauding a brilliant attendance rather than trying to pick holes in it.

Deary me, that was a hard game to enjoy yesterday. Of the games I've attended this season easily the worst performance. A good description of the team's display might include the phrase 'error-strewn', there really were so many unenforced mistakes with players putting careless passes out of play etc.

I really couldn't understand the stubborn insistence by Notts to stick to playing it out from the back absolutely every single time. The Yeovil players knew exactly what was going to happen every time and were pressing the Notts defenders hard which was bringing about uncertaintly and mistakes at the back by the Magpies. Surely, even with a general plan to play this way it leaves an opportunity to mix things up a little with the goalie taking a punt from the hands, turning their players around and taking the increasing pressure off. It was too predictable.

In general, I thought that one or two of the lads needed that wee bit too long on the ball and were getting caught out, at times over-elaborating, setting the team on the back foot when they lost the ball.

Speaking of individuals, I don't see what Jaros brings to the team that Slocombe doesn't really. I think he needs to earn his place. Not crazy about Roberts' attitude at times either. Great little player when he's on but appears to blame everyone else at times when things don't work out.

The point was an important one and who knows may prove invaluable come regular season end.
