I don't really call that a major upturn if I'm being honest, and performances have been very poor when playing the teams you'd expect us to have more chance of beating. We turned up v the Hun and second half yesterday but were ****ing abysmal against the bottom 2 teams and again against Livi. Throw in the St Mirren game too and we were damn lucky to beat County. I genuinely don't think Tam is going to take us to the next level but I absolutely hope to be wrong.

St Mirren game we should have won, if we took our chances we would have, guilt edged ones, talk of how poor that night was, was overstated due to the sun we were on and we were denied a stonewaller too

And yes there is no way of knowing that he needs 2-3 seasons or we will never know, imo he can, I've seen enough about how well he sets is up against the old firm (Celtic at home apart) and sick to a gameplan and execute it, even with kids or injuries to tell me he had something about him

No one if saying its been great form but its been steady, especially at the back for the most part, we've almost emerged with a new defence from earlier in the season with Graham doing well, Butch at CB, McMann being out at times, Freeman being out at times etc, think we have adapted fairly well, even recently with setbacks losing Levitt at Pittodrie was a blow for the rest of the game and at livi, losing watt at livi was a blow in that game and for yesterday, Mulgrew being out too
I reckon Boris Johnson would give you a job as his spin doctor, **** you'd probably be able to convince me to vote tory!

The only reason I'm using 2 defeats in 11 is to counter balance your unfair 'form guide' of 2 wins in 16. If you look back through this, and other threads, I use the last 5 games as a form guide. Hence why I said to AJ the other day our current form would have us finish 5th and yesterday I said we are now 6th in the form table. We've picked up double the amount of points over the last 10 games compared to the previous 10. I'd say that's an upturn. Especially when the last 6 games prior to us turning this around all ended in defeat.

    Reality, not spin

If you haven't witnessed the difference from the losing run, that's understandable but maybe look at a results website to assist

Oh here we go with the superfan shyte. Just because I've not been at every game due to location does not mean I haven't seen the games. I've been a United fan for over 40 years so don't be giving me your nonsense OK fella. I know the difference between a good team and a shyte one trust me. You need to step away from the keyboard yourself and maybe try to understand that not everyone needs to share your opinion

OK if that's how you see it, no problem. Personally I think for the most part our performances have been soul destroying. The major problem is obviously that we are utterly shyte in the final third and despite signing Watt we kept McNulty when he should have been back at Reading allowing us to try a different option. If this had happened we would be sitting a comfortable 4th in my opinion.

I'll also add that I was not happy about signing a kid from Arsenal that's never played a first team game, he's barely touched the grass (or plastic) since he arrived over a month ago, another wage that could have helped imo.

Everyone on here is a passionate Utd fan but there does seem to be a split in how folk view where we are, probably a misunderstanding or 2 along the way which has caused heated debate-never a bad thing btw unless it goes to far.
If I was to ask everyone to rate every player out of 10 for their overall performance for the season so far, I would be very surprised if we weren't similar.
The goalie and defence would each average no lower than 7 poss higher.
Midfield and attack would be lucky to get 6 as an average in some cases eg McNulty I would be stunned if anyone scored him higher than 4
I would score Butch much higher as a defender than as a midfielder btw.
No-one will be concerned about the defence but some of us pay to see attacking footbal and are frustrated, most will feel the club have built a base to move forward.
Its so important in the next window we sign oven ready players to bring the midfield, and attack especially, up to a level where their scores match the defence.
Do that and next year we will be top 6, but if we dont then crowds will drop and patience will run out

Sincerely hope so Terry and I genuinely want Tam to be a success. I think the overriding disappointment for me was the recruitment in January which I think we got horribly wrong. I don't really fancy our chances in the cup next week but a win against St Mirren will go a long way in brightening up my outlook. I'm a football fan, I'm fickle, sue me
