The outcome, as you so correctly point out CiB, of meddling in the Ukraine is terrible to behold. In July 1914 Australia-Hungary declared war on Serbia and thereafter foreign powers were drawn inexorably into what became the hideous slaughter of WW1. I could hardly believe that anyone would now be calling-with for example appeals to NATO to intervene by enforcing a no-fly zone- for an escalation of this dreadful war in the Ukraine when the consequences of doing so are almost unimaginable in horror.

Reports are surfacing that the Yanks are telling Poland if they supply Ukraine with their old Mig 29`s then they will gladly resupply them with F16-s.
This is another red line I think for Putin.

You have to remember CiB that this is Vladimir Putin from the KGB. He personally authorised the use of a deadly nerve agent Novichok on the streets of Salisbury and then went on TV to pass off the men he sent on that deadly mission as innocent tourists who only wanted to see Salisbury’s famous church clock.

The chilling thought here is Russia has its own stock of chemical and biological weapons. Now they have “found” such weapons inside Ukraine and should such devices be used in subsequent fighting who will the blame for their use be pinned on? Putin warned of terrible consequences if his plans were interfered with? Do I take him at his word? Yes I do. Would he use chemical or biological weapons if he could? It is a chilling thought isn’t it.

was bizzaro - Outwood....super potent mil nerve agent of 97% purity that doesn't kill it's target and was many hours after when sat on a bench...they felt puky - and as chance would have it, first Doc on the scene was a a Chief medical officer for the British Army ....who suffered no ill effects btw, and... as Dr Stephen Davies, the local consultant in emergency medicine, wrote in the Times ‘no patients have experienced symptoms of nerve-agent poisoning in Salisbury

One could of course play Schrodinger’s Putin in which you are locked inside a sealed box with a flask of poison and a radioactive substance and an external observer must consider whether you are alive or dead. My guess is that even the esteemed doctor might consider your chances are on the slim side.
