Mental game. had everything, like watching Bielsaball. reading this thread from start to finish this morning was amusing! what a bunch of negheads
Agree regarding the "yank" comments, lost 2, finding his feet now, 2 big balls character building wins on the bounce now, give him credit where its due, weve never looked like winning 2 on the spin at any stage this season. he has a couple of weeks with the players now to further implement his ideas. Credit to the players for going with it also, they couldve been like "Who TF is this guy"
Ayling, despite not having his best season has been immense these last weeks, real leader.
You can only play & beat the team in front of you, so a deserved / huge 3 points. Team does appear to be onboard with Marsch - good to see a manager / coach involved & animated from the dug out.
Rodrigo looks much improved, Forshaw did well, Ayling must have been on a promise, and Cresswell, a touch raw, but some fantastic crunching tackles.
Got to feel for Bamford, but with Phillips / Cooper getting closer, we have a real chance.
Gutted for Bamford poor lad was in tears when he came off - be interesting to see who is available for selection in 2 weeks time.
We have a real chance of staying up.
Wolves were their own worst enemy with how they handled the drop to 10 men for sure...but have to agree with Rev in that we weren't a hope in hell of winning that until the red card happened !
Leeds under Bielsa and now with Marsch do well against teams who set up narrow at the back. They are Leicester, Burnley, west ham. I know we lost twice to wet spam last season but we were in both contests. Wolves were really narrow last night.. Dont know why. Teams like Liverpool and Sh1tty play much wider at the back. So do manure. we have not done well against any of them. Arsenal line up narrow under arteta, so I am hoping we can get something when we play them. Palace are not narrow but they don't press that much high up, and so we have real chance against them.
I think 9 points will definitely see us stay up. 7 may be enough.
Think 5 points may be enough to stay up which should be achievable.
Table looks a lot better now in touch of the teams immediately above us and gap to the bottom 3.
Good post match interview from JM.
Looks like Bamford injury not serious - but I know we have heard that before!
Few points:
1. Already been said, but Rodrigo has been much better.
2. Klaesson does not kick the ball well when he needs to make a long pass or clearance
3. James is not great in the box. Often makes the wrong pass or fluffs the shot.
4. Team has not missed Tyler Roberts
5. Much better at corners and free kicks
6. Much better with Barndoor Bamford on the field.
7. Forshaw often does not make the tough, incisive pass. He passes backwards and sideways a lot. When he does try to make the incisive pass, he loses the ball. we need Kalvin Philips.
