You're really suggesting the chairman replaces a manager whose team is top of the league?
What kind of insanity is that?
A few seasons ago, Sheff Wed were handily placed to win promotion, but dropped a couple of points in the run in. Mandarin sensing a downturn in form, acted promptly much to the consternation of Owls fans. Megson was an Owl through and through- one of their own- how could Mandaric do this to them at such a crucial stage of the season? The rest is history Owls finished strongly and promotion was secured.
Mandaric made the tough decision. There were no sacred cows ( or pigs) for him. Promotion meant everything.
Does TS have the bottle to do this at RUFC?
Replace Warne with Warnock?
Failing that maybe Richard Wood as manager could get us over the line?

Just a discussion point Karl. But the situation at Owls was very similar. I think we were in a slightly better situation but there are parallels between them. Warne like Megson had strong ties with the club and both clubs were stuttering.
Just putting it out there. Would interested to see if our fans think TS could make a similar decision?.
I think it is unlikely.
We could put it another way, would Warne or Warnock get us promotion given the situation as it is now?
Warnock would get us over the line. Probably any new manager bounce would get us over the line. But then what? Short term measure with long term consequences. Better idea might be to get Warnock in as consultant/motivator for next 7 games. Over short runs is where he seems to have most impact.
I do think Warne struggles personally and to motivate his players when the pressure is on, however I do not think we should even consider replacing him, either now or at the end of the season, no matter what happens. What he has brought is a real family feel to the club, we have stability and we are working within the financial constraints of being a northern town club, next to a city with two bigger clubs near us. the worlds economy is on it's knees and it will get worse over the next 3 to 5 years, this means we need to close ranks and as a club batten up for some rough times ahead. Football lives in a bubble, it thinks it is protected against such economic issues, the top 10 clubs that might be true but the rest live way beyond their means and the players expect that at all levels. Anyway, I do think Warne needs extra help in terms of his leadership style when under pressure, I think that could be from an external advisor or better sports psychologists. Having listened to his after match interview, I was pleased with him taking responsibility, but this constant praising of other teams could impact the teams self-esteem, he didn't sound like a man on a mission he sounded like a man worried and looking forward to the summer.
And prize for the most ridiculous post of the year goes to.......
IBS you make me smile sometimes.....go wobble your head pal in a dark corner. Now is the time for Stewart to stand by Warne and not break up what has been a very good partnership. If anything and no matter what happens he needs to be looking at extending his contract.
Also tried by scunny and look how that as cascaded since the defeat against us..also tried by Salford when in play offs postions and they didn’t even end up qualifying for them…if memory serves I think that may have been the same manager for both graham Alexander…
Which is true, PW is still a very good fit for this club, its set up, its chairman, its budget and its fans ( well most of them)
But we’ve got to get used to Groundhog Day, mysterious injuries, square peg team selections and a predictable playing style and tactics.
With PW and management team it’s what you see is what you get.
