Been talking to a sports physiotherapist today and he was saying that a young squad who play an high pressing game like we do will find that a ten day break should re*****ise them ready to finish the season.Apart from Woody and Ferguson we have a young squad. So get the team selection right and we can still go all the way with this.

Agree about plymouth. I thought they might get about 15 more points which would 10 or 11 would be enough for us. Also losing 3-0 yday not good for gd if we can steady the ship again our gd will vs worth an extra point to us. Plymouth and mkdons dont tend to win by much. A mid table set of results for us in the last 7 games could just about do it. If we hit lower table form now we will be knacked.

Think mcdonald being sent off will be a blessing for us cos he will miss 3 games. We have reg ,icky, wood, harding and even mattock who should all start in front of him. Lets hope we dont appeal the sending off!😉 also we hopefully we will have freddie back.and maybe a cameo appearance from kelly in the run in
Much as it pains me to say it we need to only play players who.need a runout for fitness or otherwise play second string players in the mmouse final
Im quite happy to give up.the micky mouse cup for championship football that has to be the priority now.

After what was one of our worst performances for a few years it's expected that PW and co would get a lot of grief on here. OK, some of that deserved.

What we don't know is the exact fitness level or 'carrying a knock' is for each player like those in the club do. It's easy for us to say, well I wouldn't start with that 11 without knowing all the facts.

Old school football had one sub allowed, and you were always going to start with your 'best 11'.

Football has changed (including being faster) and now it is a squad game. At this point in the season it will be rare to see less than 15 players used. Maybe there were some players who it was thought couldn't last more than 30-35 minutes, so not worth taking that risk in the first half?

Many on here will disagree, but I don't think always playing the first half with your 'best 11' is necessarily always the way. Ask Pep.

Odd thing is the same physical restrictions, squad sizes etc also apply to Wigan, MKD, Plymouth........

But they seem to pick their strongest available team to start the match

Having reflected on it, we now need to rest the players and get them fit and ready for Wembley.

Plymouth are at home to Cheltenham on Tuesday but then have to visit Ipswich next weekend which will be tough. Wigan & MK don’t play.
The weekend of our final MK host Shrewsbury which will not be easy although Shrewsbury are almost safe. Wigan host Bolton which will not be easy (local Derby) and Plymouth host Oxford. If Plymouth win all 3 they will be level with us having played two games more. If MK beat Shrewsbury they will be a point behind having played one game more. Wigan need to beat Bolton to knock us into second going in to the final.
Anything less and it is better for us.

The following Tuesday, Wigan host Accrington in their final game in hand , which could in theory, in the worst case place them 5 points in front with level games. The following Saturday, we host Charlton, MK visit Wimbledon who also desperate for points, and Wigan visit Lincoln.

So, no panic, the lowest we can be when we kick off against Charlton will be second, even in the worst case scenario. By then we hopefully will have a full squad (near enough) and be rested.

Keep the faith & up the Millers.

Ps I have not ignored Oxford but I will mention them if they beat Plymouth.

*I agree with you, certainly in the fact that we dont know the fitness levels of how some players were with regards to knocks, but at least in Chieo's case, if he was fit enough to play one half, which he did, then it should have been 1st half, because at the moment I dont see tutu giving us anything as a winger, and whilst he is clearly speedy he hasn't shown me anything yet that warrants him even coming on at all.
I certainly believe PW is trying to keep quiet about certain players so as not to alert the opposition, and I saw something yesterday when he said that only 8 players trained on thursday, but we should be starting with the best players available and yesterday was a disaster in the making from the starting 11 selected, although the way Shrewsbury played yesterday I'm not sure it would have made much difference because they ran us ragged from around 15 minutes into the game, but that has now gone and we must focus ourselves, both players managerial team and supporters for the final push. This repeated claim about our"small" squad, isn't it the same size as everyone else's squad in this league.......?

PW has clarified today via the press that Chieo is always an injury risk since his time out last season
Miller,s injury will take a long time to clear up totally
So if they are playing a lot of 98 minute games in quick succession then their long term injuries could flare up and put them out for the season.
So it's a balancing act and a risk . The next two weeks should hopefully reduce that risk and put us in a good place for April
