We've done ok since January, him joining coincided with us stabilising and going on a decent run since, outwith Celtic (late defeat at Celtic Park and the cup game) only livi have beaten us in last 13 games
There is a wee bit oh a difference.......

Him joining had absolutely nothing to do with any run we've been on, he played 45 minutes of football.

Well he said since January so I imagined he meant the Arsenal kid.

Also, there is absolutely no comparison to be made between the two loans tbh. One is a full Welsh international and the other had never played a senior game ever.

Yep. The Akinola signing was a pathetic attempt to appease the fans which failed in every way.

    Another Dundee United January window

If we do make top six then it will be despite this rather than by good judgement. I think the piss poor standard this season and very poor Hibs and Sheep sides have aided our cause. We absolutely have to strengthen our attacking options in the summer or next season will be a struggle for survival.
Whilst I get your point about Akinola, we did sign the Premierships top scorer in January, so to say we 'critically didn't address our attacking deficiencies in January' isn't quite true.

Agree with everything you've posted apart from the 1st bit, hard to predict how a loan signing like him would pan out and I'm sure when Maddison went on loan to the sheep he had very little or no 1st team appearances at Norwich at the time. He's done no bad though aye...been loads of greenhorns like Akinola went on loan and done well at clubs in Scotland, just a pity it never worked out for him and I was at Patrick away for his only 45 mins and I thought he did OK and was unlucky to be substituted at HT.....in saying that we've been helluva unlucky with young loanees. Best one ever has to be Curtis Good. What a player he was.

Yeah but at the time of his signing I said he was not the answer, he's not turned out to be the answer so I'd say I predicted correctly.
