Just listened to the new interview.
Poya “under review” rest of it is smoke, mirrors.
More “I wasn’t here”
Statistics….Data….yada yada.
Nowt fresh…….
“Can the owners do more ?” …..”I can’t answer that….I work with the cards I am dealt with”………. And a lot of “as far as I know”
Wouldn’t waste 22 minutes if I were you.
He previously stated " he never considered relegation" 🤡
I’ve listened to it.
And after listening to it my conclusion about the running of the club can be summed up in one word - CHAOS.
It’s clear that whoever (Paul Conway?) was at the helm during last summer dosent know much about football.
Khaled admitting that some players were bought because they were a good price ie Obbi.
He also admitted that the playing style change could have been handled better.
If that statement wasn’t so disheartening - it would be laughable.
Jeez !!!
Then the board tried to put things right in the January window with the recruitment of an experienced leader in midfield - but the ONE player they went for refused to join the club.
ONE player !!!
If they had brought in Quina and Bassi - and also a midfield leader PLUS a similar type of target striker player like Morris - then we wouldn’t be were we are.
But they chose not to - because those players were too expensive.
Consequently they now have to pick up the bill of relegation AND the cost of half the supporters distancing themselves from the club.
With a business acumen like that I honestly can’t understand how these owners have become wealthy.
Listening to the interview it’s clear Khaled is putting out fires all over the place.
Basically because there is poor cheapskate leadership coming from the top.
Yep - it sounded like that to me.
If he and the owners thought that this interview was intended to pacify the disgruntled - then in my opinion it’s done the complete opposite and made matters even worse.
It very much sounds like they would have difficulty running a whelks stall.
Keep them away from whelks.
Am partial to spme fresh young whelks (not old rubbery ones) wi pepper and vinegar in a tub from a proper shellfish stall by the sea.
Well I take Poya is under review as he's going to be sacked the minute we are relegated .
How's about sacking the recruitment team , the CEO and a vote of no confidence in Conway ?
Collective responsibility .... Not just one HC brought in when the damage was already done .
Well done to those who have taken the time to listen to the media event.
Having listened to his last couple updates and the ongoing decline of OUR club Barnsley FC, I personally have better things to do.
Onwards but Downwards.
According to the official site, Khaled is doing another Q&A session next week on the 11th.
What else can he tell us that he hasn’t already ?
The only way of gaining the fans trust again is for Paul Conway to face the Supporters Trust.
And for him to admit that they got these things wrong ………
Imposing changes in team tactics.
Imposing player selection.
Adamantly sticking to only bringing in young players.
Not putting their own hands in their pockets to fund a couple of older quality players.
If he did that - and then proved it during the close season - then I’m sure it would bring supporters back to the club.
Im sure theres a lot of truth in what Khaled says. But it always leaves me feeling all the more frustrated, and suspicious that theres a heck of a lot that they aren't telling us.
Unfortunately, hes just a mouthpiece for Conway and dare I say it, maybe a scapegoat as well.
As for Poya, I can't say that Im disappointed to read that, and I presume it will be a Morais type thing as soon as the season is over.
But then again, if they bring a coach in and give him little or no help recruitment wise, and if they stick their noses in when it comes to who plays and in what position and formation etc, then thats never going to work out.
I don't feel too sorry for Schopp and Asbaghi, as I/we all know who are really to blame here at the end of the day. But some people do have to take the blame when its relegation, and its always the manager/coach.
