In answer to the question why would a politician like Sunak be in a job for around £100k with all his wealth, to feather his own nest, just like the rest of them.

As for the wealth gap - how much tax do you think the wealthy should pay in order to address inequalities? I find it abhorrent how the rich and super rich despite having more than enough are sort of inebriated by money that they are blind unto themselves. Equally abhorrent is being fit to work and milking the system, what is to be done?

Turns out Labour are a fine example of pot and kettle. They’ve attacked Sunak over this, maybe rightly, but then it turns out they have been taking millions in donations from non-doms for years.

Sir Ronald Cohen, donated £2.5m donations to labour and appointed chair of the local investment task force.

Lakshmi Mittal, £5m donations, domiciled abroad for tax gains.

Lord Noon donated £1m to Labour but then gave up non-dom status to join the House of Lords.

Labour party exist from the money gained from this loophole. Who the heck do you vote for?

Just playing Devils Advocate here, but I wonder what the Indians think of this? I understand all the back story, but where DO these people pay their taxes? Google, Apple, Microsoft, Meta CEO's, choose to pay tax in the US after making huge profits here. I struggle to see the difference, really.

These are good points but the “optics” of a PM or Chancellor’s spouse paying tax outside the country they reside in is just gross.

Over the last 20 odd years I could’ve easily set up my company registered office in Jersey and taken advantage of their very favourable tax regime.

It’s not a good mix to have a multi billionaire couple in Number 11 who are choosing to run their lives this way whilst at the same time citizens in the U.K. are beyond breaking point and yet he still brings in additional taxation on them.

Initially I thought Sunak did well at the start of the pandemic but I called him completely wrong and I’ll openly admit that.

He needs to go and go quickly, we need. Progressive Chancellor with a low tax agenda who has a laser focus on large companies and corporations.

If nothing else it’s just as well his lack of nous and total hubris has been found out now and not when he becomes PM.

Sunak now launching an investigation into who leaked his wife’s tax arrangements to the media with a view to prosecution.

    FFS.....the entitlement and hypocrisy!

People like him never know when to stop digging do they!!?

Contrition and humble pie are the order of the day, not getting on your high horse and wielding your power.

The tax affairs and arrangements both here within the U.K. and abroad should be a matter of open knowledge for both MP’s and their spouses and civil/long term partners, the law needs changing.

There should be no wriggle room with this either for anyone.

If you’re not willing to be a completely open book then don’t go into politics and if your spouse or partner doesn’t want full disclosure then it’s not the career for you.

Sunak is becoming more unlikeable and toxic with every day that goes by.

Totally agree Mick! Absolutely despise the
c unt!!! Total and utter hypocrite - rocket the taxes up for those who can’t afford to eat and now keep warm then using every dodge in the book with his own affairs!

His wife loves her country - yeah right!!!! I would love the Falkland Islands if I could live there and bleed their system dry!!

The wife who loves her country was one of the last to pull the plug on operations in Russia!! Disgusting woman when all those other brands pulled out on humane reasons!!!!!

Not a fan of Boris but unlike Truss there was no loyalty over the partygate issues!!! One selfish and complete t wat!
