It sums up today’s society that people would actually give enough of a f u c k to buy a magazine with photos of some Nomark Z list non celebrity.

I watched the Oasis Supersonic documentary tonight and Noel Gallagher made a really interesting comment.

He was talking about them reaching their pinnacle at Knebworth in front of 250,000 fans in 1996, 2.5m people actually applied for tickets.

He said that looking back on it it was like the last night before the Internet and digital age started, nothing was the same after those two gigs.

500,000 attended over two nights and it was all done from good old fashioned word of mouth and radio and mainstream TV and newspaper coverage and had taken less than 3 years from obscurity to world domination.

No X Factor or Pop Idol existed, people weren’t famous for being famous, fame was earned.

Beckham’s four kids wouldn’t make one useful one if you rolled them all into one.
