some perspective...shouldn't need it - Dyches last game as Burnley's manager.

    ...and where we are now.

My dad called me around noon and gave me the news... as soon as heard it I thought ,ok the players must have turned on him. If they went to the board then Mr. Pace really had little choice. And sacking all of the staff I think is inevitable as they have been there together for so long, keeping one or two would not be possible or wise.
I do think it is sad. I have tickets to see the lady game of the season. I had hoped Dyche would be there, but I guess that's to much to ask for at the moment

It would make sense if they were in advanced talks with a new manager, and he was insisting on bringing his own coaches in. But this would imply some planning and thought had gone into this move, which I doubt there has. If they really had been thinking of a new manager and the Norwich game was the straw that broke the camel's back, surely he'd have been gone on Monday or Tuesday, but no, they wait until two days before the West Ham game to show him the door, which means an ex Clitheroe goalkeeper will be helping to fill his shoes at West Ham, best of luck with that one. The timing of this seems to me like a knee jerk reaction after a panicky Thursday night board meeting, and they're running round like headless chickens, not a clue what they're doing.

It has indeed been a good Friday.

I've mentioned before that SD deserves a statue outside the Turf, but this was needed. The timing wasn't perfect, but still needed. Anyone who will enter the gates will bring something that we haven't seen for a while; motivation, a new spark, (hopefully) a new style of play, a fresh breath, a change.

Thank you Sean for what you have done, but we can't live in the 17/18 and 18/19-season for ever.

A nice quote to sum this up:

“To move forward, you have to leave the past behind.”

....interesting take - Sinkov, but to me, doesn't fit the Pace profile, not with his history, global head of futures/strategy at Citibank, etc etc getting into a sweat and making a wild swipe - not for me, is much too calculating for that.
....and being why I think, whatevers in preparation....has been known/decided earlier than recent.

but we have to be glad about it - after all, it got you posting again .

If the owners are financially gambling on keeping you up this season it makes little sense as this is Dyche's team and nobody on the planet knows the players better - and they were recruited by him to play the way he wants.

The timing is also weird given that there are so few games left because if you go down you have all summer to make a decision - to sack him now really looks like a knee jerk reaction to the loss at Norwich (which TBF was piss poor)

I am not so sure that the recent signings were Dyche's choice especially Cornet and Weghorst. Our style of play did not appear to get the best out of these players.
