Agree , have lacked creativity for last 2 seasons , defensively we are fine but middle to front needs addressed big time

Feck knows how but 4th could be on so a big well done if it happens.
My Q's to the money man and recruitment team:
Do you look at ydays starting line up and the current squad, and think if we're brave, get rid of the ones not up to it and invest in quality we can put foot on throats of rest and challenge for 3rd next season?
Or, do you see as we're in 4th then we have a good enough squad?
My opinion is we need to be brave as we are in 4th not because we are much better than the rest but due to being ever so less shyte than the other 8.
More creativity and more goals=bigger crowds=trophy hunting=success=£££
Congrats on top 6 and possibly Europe but if we do not improve this squad, not only do we miss our chance to challenge for best of the rest but, I fear we would be in big trouble next season.
Thoughts welcome

Every other team are gonna build for next season....Aberdeen will splash the cash, Hibs will be looking to do much better, Kilmarnock have already said they are gonna be doing some spending. These are all top 6 contenders for next season and we can't let them pull away from us. Next years league is gonna be far more brutal than this one, where I think its fair to say, every team under the top 3 are all pretty similar in ability.
We only need a couple of tweaks but the tweaks we need are massive! A big striker, a wee striker, a wide fast player, solid midfielder would be a good start! And please can we get them in early....we need a good preseason and hopefully have these players in to start in Europe if we make it!
Agree with all of the above
I think the management and recruitment team are aware of this. I think being fourth is something that has surprised them and gives them the opportunity to go to The board with a more positive request for funds.
I also think they want to recruit the right person and no just any player. Like everything they will not get it right every time.
We do have creative players but the forwards are the issue. Apart from Watt they don’t hold the ball up, they can’t keep the ball and quite simply don’t score the goals they should.
Let’s get to fourth with the lure of European football bringing more opportunities to get good players in.
Yes they will be aware of all of this and maybe just maybe are waiting till this season actually ends as nothing is secured
If Motherwell beat County next weekend, they have Hearts at home the mid-week, while we have Sevco and Celtic
Regardless, we have progressed season on season since they arrived, I for one have enjoyed it apart from the losing streak in winter and the covid season, Ogren has been amazing for us, very thankful he arrived when we were at our lowest and weakest in 60 years, they have a plan not for short term, they will be looking to improve us again, we need strengthened in obvious areas, won't be lost of those at the club
Hindsight is always a great thing. If any of us were offered where we are just now, and how we got there, I'm guessing most folk would have only one hand left. (or maybe right)
We all know that other teams are going through much the same as us, making this a very open league. Futba ways, not great. Clean sheets? no bad. Players ? Hmmmm.
Overall, I'm not going to complain about our progress since getting back in the big league. A stat man/person (got to be careful these days) could make a great case for our progression, but as a fan that actually watches the team, we have a lot of work to do.
But.......... if anyone had told me when we were playing those playoff matches, trying to get back up, that we would be in fourth place and aiming (yet again) for European futba so soon, I would have laughed in their face and paid the taxi to Carseview. (nae offence Sheddirz)![]()
"amazing"? I'm all for giving Ogren and his crew the benefit of the doubt but to call what they have done so far as amazing causes me to worry about your sanity. We are pretty much abysmal to watch - we are no different to most of the teams in an absolutely sh1te league. Our crowds have dropped because of the utter lack of entertainment. In your mind this may not be important but the majority of fans want to see their team playing good football and earning the respect of the opposition. As things are fans are losing their passion for the game because they are stumping up hard earned money for an inferior product. If the way United play at the moment is the future of the game (and most Scottish Premiership teams) the game will be brought to it's knees.
