SWFC Post Loss of £25m in Latest Set of Accounts

They could be in real trouble if they don't gain promotion.

Barnsley are also in significant financial trouble following relegation. Big, BIG, issues there.

Doncaster Rovers, taking a sensible approach, have cut their cloth and should be ok in terms of staying afloat, but won't be a financial powerhouse in League 2. Historically they would be a big player at that level.

Chesterfield's Trust had one big punt (the club did well financially from a covid insurance clause) at returning to the League. I believe that was this season. They need to go up. I heard a whisper that they outbid a number of League clubs to sign Tshimanga. We may well have been one of those clubs.

    I haven't a clue about SUFC's financial situation.

The local football scene could look very different in 3 to 5 years time.

Massive debt! We built a stadium for that whilst they lost that in a year!

It's going to get worserer when they factor the long length season tickets they were selling. That money could have been spent meaning the gate receipts will be lower next year whether they go up or not!

They probably had to do the season ticket ploy to get some cash flow

It would be a real shame if such clubs go bust (NOT), they bend the rules, year after year and rely on the fact the whole sport is so corrupt from top to bottom, to get away with it. I have nothing against Donny and Chesterfield i hope they keep their finances tight and survive, I wouldn't want to see SUFC or Barnsley in trouble either, but Wednesday are arrogant they live in the past and think they are something special, I wouldn't shed a tear if they went under, it won't happen for the same reason Bolton were given chance after chance, a so called big name can't go under, because then the house of cards that is football would collapse

Derby totally agree. Weds deserve all that is happening to them and I for one hope they don’t go up!

About time it all backfired on them for lavishly over spending. Take Bannan for instance on £30k a week ffs don’t they ever learn? 🤣🤣🤣

    Totally agree

Some perspective here, Ladapo’s antics have been discussed, we reportedly paid £500k for him, about the same money that SWFC lose PER WEEK

    That’s a lot of tuna

They’re impressive though, losing money due to covid before covid was first identified

That's what you get with risk v reward in an attempt to reach the promised land. They tried it and failed and are now suffering the consequences. They won't be the only club that's mega millions in the red. In the past they've been spending above £200 for every £100 of income, that's unsustainable. They need that promotion more than ever this season.
